The Wife You Buried Is Back from Hell novel Chapter 1353

After leaving the mansion, Kirsten walked aimlessly for a while.

As she thought things through,

she decided she needed to make a clean break with Gian.

Pulling her jacket tight against the chill, she stood by the curb and waited.

She simply waited.

The moment Gian's car pulled out of the driveway,

Kirsten took a deep breath and stepped into his path.

The window rolled down, revealing Gian's exhausted face.

His eyes were still terribly bloodshot. Upon seeing her, he muttered, "Get in."

Kirsten's gaze drifted to his hands gripping the steering wheel. Those strong, steady hands had supported her through her lowest moments and brought her medicine when she was sick.

She looked away, her voice pitched low but razor-sharp. "I'm just here to set a time."

Gian's fingers twitched. He swallowed hard but stayed silent.

"A time to go to city hall." She looked up, meeting his gaze head-on.

Her eyes were perfectly calm, like an undisturbed lake, save for the faint redness that betrayed her lingering sorrow. "You've already signed the papers. I've reviewed them; everything looks fine."

Remembering how she had rushed in to save him just moments ago, remembering her desperate plea that they weren't divorced yet...

His chest tightened agonizingly, a dull ache throbbing in his heart.

"When?" he heard himself ask, his voice wrecked and gravelly.

Kirsten pressed her lips together, her fingers absently tracing the hem of her jacket. "Tomorrow morning at eight. I'll meet you outside city hall."

She paused, adding, "I'll bring all the necessary documents. You won't need to make an extra trip."

She spoke with cold, professional courtesy, as if finalizing a routine business deal.

Gian gripped the steering wheel so hard his knuckles turned white.
