The Wife You Buried Is Back from Hell novel Chapter 1306

“This piece of paper might not look like much, but when it counts, it holds a lot of weight.”

She paused, her gaze sweeping over both their faces before continuing, “The storm hasn't completely passed yet. The Jamisons' scandal is still making headlines, and the remnants of those international competitors haven't been entirely rooted out.”

“Plenty of eyes are fixed on the Davidsons, and on the two of you.”

“If you don't make it official and remarry, who knows what kind of rumors those people will spin? They'll say Danielle has no rightful place here, or accuse the Davidsons of harboring hidden agendas by raising someone else's son. When that happens, it'll only bring more trouble.”

Bianca's words hit the nail on the head.

It wasn't that Alexander hadn't thought about getting remarried recently, but he knew Danielle might still have her reservations.

Back then, he had acted on impulse, saying and doing hurtful things that ultimately pushed them to divorce.

Their reconciliation had been built on countless days and nights of making amends and laying everything bare. He didn't want to use any excuse to force Danielle into a decision.

Alexander set down his fork and turned to look at Danielle beside him.

The afternoon sunlight fell across her profile, highlighting her soft features. Her long eyelashes were slightly lowered, masking the emotions in her eyes.

His gaze softened, and his voice was deep and steady. “There's no rush.”

Those few simple words were spoken lightly, but they made Bianca frown.

“How can there be no rush?”

A hint of urgency crept into her tone. “With the current situation, the sooner you two get that marriage license, the sooner you'll shut down anyone with ulterior motives.”

“Danielle is a good woman. She's been by your side for so many years and endured so much. You can't just let her stay with you without a proper title.”

Hearing this, Danielle felt a faint tug at her heart. She looked up, meeting Bianca's eyes with a gentle smile. “Mom, I know you're looking out for us.”

“It's just that this really isn't something we can rush.”

Bianca opened her mouth to argue, but Alexander raised a hand to stop her.

He looked at his mother, his tone remaining calm. “Mom, Danielle and I have our own plans regarding the remarriage.”

“Don't worry. We know what we're doing.”

Seeing his resolute expression, Bianca knew pushing the issue was useless. She simply sighed, shook her head, and picked up her fork again, though her appetite was gone.

The rest of the meal passed in relative silence.

Afterward, Bianca gave Raffy a few instructions, telling him to pack his things for tomorrow so she could take him back to the main estate. Only then did she grab the empty Tupperware and leave.

The front door clicked shut, and the living room instantly plunged into quiet.

Alexander leaned back against the sofa, closing his eyes as he massaged his throbbing temples.

Danielle finished clearing the dining table and walked over with a freshly brewed cup of chamomile tea, setting it on the coffee table beside him.

Neither of them spoke.
