The Wife You Buried Is Back from Hell novel Chapter 116

That evening.

Danielle got a call from her mother: the six million dollars had already hit their account. They could finally launch the project.

She pressed her lips together, a little surprised at how quickly Alexander had transferred the money.

"I saw the investor was Alexander. You two…" Vivian hesitated, not sure how to finish the thought.

Danielle's tone was cool, almost indifferent. "He only splashed out for Millie because he wanted to secure her a ticket to the Atwood Group's industry summit tomorrow."

He'd always been generous when it came to Millie.

Vivian immediately understood. She took a deep breath. "But that's still part of your joint assets as husband and wife. How could he just—"

"We'll discuss it in court when the time comes." Danielle's eyes stayed fixed on the system calculations on her laptop. Her voice was calm, unhurried. "I'll just take what's rightfully mine."

She had no intention of dragging things out with endless arguments over money. All she wanted was Niki's child support and a fair share for the five years she'd given. Once the divorce was done, she could finally let go.

Vivian didn't say anything more—she knew Danielle had always had her own mind, even as a child.

On the day of the industry summit, the weather was brilliant. The temperature soared to nearly 100 degrees—a true sign that summer had arrived.

When Danielle came downstairs, Gian's car was already waiting at the curb.

He would take her straight through the staff entrance.

"Morning." Danielle carried a takeout box as she slid into the passenger seat. "I made breakfast for Niki, so I brought an extra portion for you. Eat up before we go in."

Gian grinned, taking the box. "You're spoiling me. I thought I'd have to survive the morning on an empty stomach."

After breakfast, Gian drove them to the summit venue.

The place was already buzzing; a steady stream of people had started to arrive.

As they walked in, Gian leaned over and said, "Mr. Wilson will be here today, representing the government. He's scheduled to give a speech."

Danielle blinked in surprise. Mr. Wilson, from the National Aeronautics Agency, was a major figure—he'd be outlining the latest government policies and plans.
