The Wife You Buried Is Back from Hell novel Chapter 115

She knew her boundaries.

Even during the years she worked as an assistant at The Davidson Group, Danielle never entered Alexander's office without good reason. Every time she did, he looked at her as if she were an annoyance, so now, she didn't even consider stepping inside.

Millie didn't press the issue and simply left.

Danielle took out a tube of ointment and began to gently rub it onto her wrist. She was supposed to use it three times a day, but she'd skipped the morning application. Still, the stuff was surprisingly effective—after just a few uses, the cuts on her wrist already looked much better.

She'd just finished and was putting the ointment away when Millie came back, carrying a cup of coffee.

Millie's eyes immediately landed on the ointment. "Wait, isn't that the cream I brought back from Europe? I was looking for it last night—turns out you had it all along."

Danielle hesitated for a moment.

She hadn't realized just how little Alexander cared. He knew perfectly well she and Millie barely tolerated each other, yet he'd still given her Millie's ointment, as if to make things even more uncomfortable.

Danielle stood up and, without a word, tossed the entire tube into the trash.

She looked at Millie. "Alexander gave it to me, so it's mine now. If you want it back, you're welcome to fish it out of the trash."

With that, she spun on her heel and walked out, leaving Millie frozen in place, her expression unreadable.

Throwing away that medicine was no different from throwing away a man. If Millie wanted it, she could dig through the garbage for it.

Nothing good ever comes from the trash, anyway.

Millie's face hardened as she finally processed what had just happened. Was Danielle really mocking her like that?

After his meeting, Alexander returned to finalize a contract with Danielle. She signed without a word, scooped up the papers, and left. It all happened quickly and smoothly—Alexander didn't try to stop her.

Their marriage had become so cold that even strangers might be warmer to one another.
