The Wife You Buried Is Back from Hell novel Chapter 111

"Let's get them down the mountain first," Alexander said coolly.

Danielle, of course, understood that Alexander would never embarrass Millie in public; if Millie made a request, he'd almost always agree, if only out of courtesy.

Nash nodded.

After everyone had piled into the car, Nash glanced at Danielle in the rearview mirror. "Ma'am, where to?"

Danielle leaned back in her seat, her voice steady. "Nearest hospital, please."

Nash hesitated for a moment but didn't press for details. It wasn't his place. Quietly, he started the engine and drove toward the hospital.

As for the broken-down car, someone from the repair shop could just tow it away later. Danielle was never one to make things difficult for herself—if there was a car available, she'd take it. Simple as that.

Vivian was a little taken aback by how decisively Danielle had gotten into the car, no fuss or protest.

Once they arrived at the hospital, Nash stepped aside and called Alexander to report that he'd dropped the ladies off.

Alexander's response was almost indifferent, his tone calm and even: "Got it."

The doctor gave Danielle some basic medication for heat exhaustion and told her to rest for a few days.

Vivian eyed her with concern. "You're looking thinner and paler than ever. You really need to take better care of yourself. Is it because of Alexander…?"

"No," Danielle cut in quietly. "I've just been too busy lately. Work's been nonstop."

And that was the truth. She was busy—busy trying to make money, busy fighting to reclaim everything that was rightfully hers.

"Go home and get some rest," Vivian said, standing to leave. "I'll pick up Niki from school tonight."

Danielle nodded. She really wasn't up for playing tough right now. "Don't worry about the company's investment troubles. I'll see what I can do."

Back home, Danielle took a quick shower, then opened the imported medicine Alexander had given her and gently applied it to her wound.

Without another thought, she collapsed into bed and slept straight through until after eight in the evening.

She was eventually woken by a call from her grandmother.
