I had no idea why Caden would choose today of all days to hold an outrageous meeting. I was aware he’s scheduled a meeting before now with his Alphas, but he only just told me this morning that I’d have to be in attendance when I absolutely didn’t want to.

There were certain things I needed to hurriedly do at the office before going to the Capital to see the kids one last time. This meeting might serve as a major delay.

I kept tapping my foot under the table, my mind lost even though I was seated among the Alphas with Caden by my side.

A part of me was actually curious to know what this was about. It wasn’t very often he called for such meetings.

He went first with the formalities, thanking them and even me for coming. It was unnerving each time he put on this fake gentleman act in front of them.

“There are some developments that could be done that’d greatly improve us. This is why I’m demanding for this little token from each of your Packs and

companies. It’s to be given monthly to me to ensure a very smooth running.”

Before Caden showed up and split the ranks, each Pack always sent a certain amount of money to the Capital Pack once a month. It was more like a form of tax payment and was always very little. So little the Alphas didn’t feel a thing when paying for it as it was money they made in a couple of days or less.

To say it was nonsensical would be an understatement.

The meeting came to an end with a lot of disgruntled Alphas. Caden didn’t even give them a chance to argue further. I could already see this being a major issue.

I was just as disturbed as the rest of the Alphas in there, but time was running out and I needed to head to the Capital.

I couldn’t go to the office anymore, so Bianca couldn’t accompany me.

After a couple of hours as usual, I reached the Capital City, at the very spot I always stopped. I changed in the car, wearing my usual beards and
