The door opens and Nathaniel walks into the master bedroom where Alexandra was lying on the bed, still unconscious. He gently lowered down on the space next to her.
"You look so peaceful when you sleep" He whispers, tucking a strand of hair behind her ear.
A small smile creeps on his face as he listens to the steady beat of her heart, Nathaniel trails his index finger on her face, lost in staring at her for a long moment.
"I want to see you roll your eyes again" He holds her hand
"When will you wake up?" He asked, yearning to see her beautiful eyes once again but a part of him was still mad at her and wanted to have nothing to do with her as soon as she opened her eyes.
As he stared at her, Nathaniel could hear his heart beating faster than ever, he wanted her yet he was still mad at her and has lost hope of ever being together.
"I hope you open your eyes soon" He breathes out, his eyes filled with a lot of emotions for a moment until memories strike through his mind, and Adams's words echo in his head once again causing him to remember all that happened on the Alpha election ceremony day.
Nathaniel could remember it all like it just happened yesterday, he had arrived at the council and Alexandra had been glad to see him but yet, she turned around and made him like a fool once again.
"You only used me to win, that's all you're good at"
He stands up, enraged, hating to be next to the woman who he had claimed as his mate.
"I wish I could go back in time then I won't have let this happen, you caused all of this but it ends here Alexandra Guerrero" Nathaniel states, the pain ripping his heart apart.
Despite how staying close to her has always put a smile on his face in a manner he couldn't fathom, Nathaniel was going to end it all, he wasn't going to let himself be played another time.
"This is where it ends so you better wake up Alexandra Guerrero"
Loosening his grip around, Nathaniel tries to take a step towards the door when his peripheral vision catches a glimpse of Alexandra's eyes gently opening up. His eyes widened and he looked at her, bewildered.
"Alexandra" He muttered under his breath but she didn't hear this.
Adam and Olivia had done a good number on her body and her muscles had gotten weak from lying for too long in bed. Although Nathaniel had massaged her legs, he had tried not to overstep his boundary since she rejected him most horribly.
"Nathaniel" she whispers, attempting to stand back up but falls to the ground.
Alexandra groans, she couldn't let Nathaniel get away from her again. When Adam and Olivia attacked her, she lost hope but when she had seen him standing in the woods, it made her realize that she was where she wanted to be and who she wanted to see, it was Nathaniel Starkov and no one else. It has always been and even though she knew this, Alexandra didn't just want to surrender to him.
Adam made her lose trust in the mate bond and she was scared of having to lose herself to Nathaniel only just to get hurt over again. Her poor heart couldn't bear the pain and although it was selfish, Alexandra didn't have any regret, if ever, it would be not trusting Nathaniel since he was her true mate.
"I'm sorry" she whispers "I'm so sorry Nathaniel" she states hoping he would hear her but Nathaniel was long gone and doesn't want to see her ever again. But Alexandra wasn't going to give up, she wasn't going to let him slip away from her ever again. He made her his and she was Intending to be his, day and night until forever comes.
"Just this once, be strong!" She inhales deeply and tries to stand up again but falls.
Groaning, Alexandra runs her hand through her hair, tears cloud her eyes and she bites her lips till the metallic taste of blood hits her tongue causing her eyes to darken and she stands up with wobbly feet.
