The Prison-Made Queen novel Chapter 565

The three of them continued chatting, seamlessly drifting into other topics.

Later on, Leilani received a phone call and needed to leave early.

Seizing the opportunity, Yvonne told Judie to stay at the table to save their spot and watch their bags so she could walk Leilani out.

Judie had originally wanted to join them, but seeing the subtle hint in Yvonne's eyes, she realized her friend needed a private moment with Leilani, so she obediently stayed put.

As they walked toward the exit, Yvonne hesitated for a long time before finally breaking the silence. "Leilani, my mom... she truly regrets what she did. I didn't mean anything else by what I said earlier; I just wanted to pass along her message. Please don't let it weigh on you."

Yvonne knew that while Leilani appeared cold on the outside, she actually had a very fragile heart. She was terrified that her earlier words might have reopened old wounds.

Her mother was her mother, and she was her own person. Yvonne would never force Leilani to forgive Gloria just because they were related.

"I know."

"Then..."

Yvonne trailed off. Leilani's emotions were simply too well-guarded. She couldn't tell if Leilani was genuinely unbothered or secretly furious.

When they reached the street, Leilani turned to her, her eyes calm and gentle. "Yvonne, I mean it. I don't hate your mother. But I also have no desire to ever cross paths with her again. Do you understand what I'm saying?"

Yvonne froze for a second. Of course she understood.

Leilani offered a soft smile and reached out to tuck a stray strand of windblown hair behind Yvonne's ear. "You are you, and she is she. I would never let her attitude change how much I care about you."

So, there was no need to walk on eggshells or cautiously test the waters around her. Leilani hated that kind of dynamic. She always preferred straightforward honesty.
