"An... Anthony..."
In the chaotic crowd, someone suddenly spoke up, and everyone's eyes instinctively darted toward the door.
A man stood there in a long black trench coat that accentuated his tall, imposing figure. His lips were pressed into a tight line, and his predatory gaze narrowed dangerously.
Taking in the scene unfolding in the interrogation room, Anthony's entire demeanor instantly radiated a suffocating coldness. His presence was utterly terrifying.
"Lottie..."
Anthony's expression shifted slightly. A flicker of panic crossed his gloomy face as he took wide strides forward.
The people in the room sensibly parted down the middle to clear a path for him, standing silently to the side and carefully holding their breath.
"Lottie..."
Anthony crouched down, gently grasping the young woman's wrist, and spoke with unwavering tenderness. "It's dirty. Don't touch it."
"The phone you gave me..." Seeing the man who had suddenly appeared before her, the young woman's eyes reddened slightly, and her expression turned aggrieved. "She broke it."
"..."
Anthony tilted his head and glanced at the phone. His gaze cooled imperceptibly as he gently pulled his wife back into his embrace, soothing her softly. "I'll have them manufacture a new one. You'll see it when you wake up tomorrow."
"..."
Charlotte curled up in Anthony's arms, resting her forehead against his chest. The defensive thorns bristling all over her body were slowly smoothed away.
"Let Hans handle things here. Let's go home, okay?"
Anthony took out a disinfectant wipe, meticulously cleaned the young woman's hands, and then held them gently.
As he spoke, he carefully helped his wife to her feet and tucked her into his side. Out of the corner of his eye, he shot a glance at Reba, who was slumped lifelessly on the floor.
"Cough, cough..."
Reba clutched her throat, scrambling backward while gasping heavily for air.
"Do I need to teach you how to handle this?"
"No need, Anthony." Hans respectfully lowered his head. "She attacked first, and the reporters caught it all on camera. She won't be able to escape an attempted murder charge."
Not to mention.
They had lawyers on standby.
No matter what, she was going to pay the price for her actions.
"Mhm."
Anthony gave a faint hum of acknowledgment, wrapping his arm around his wife as they left the chaotic scene.
