"..."
"Get some good rest once you arrive." Anthony leaned down slightly to meet her eyes, his voice softening. "If you want to go to the award ceremony, take more security with you."
Her body still hadn't fully recovered since giving birth to the babies.
If an accident happened, her wounds might get aggravated.
"Once the award ceremony ends on Saturday, if you want to have some fun, stay a few extra days."
"Your accommodation over there is all arranged. Eldorians will be taking care of you, and the meals will all be to your taste."
"..."
Hearing the man's words, Charlotte pouted, glaring at him resentfully as she mumbled, "Anthony, you've certainly arranged everything perfectly."
He was even more meticulous with her than he was with those two little ones.
"Of course." Anthony held the girl's hands, rubbing his nose against hers with a light chuckle. "Since I can't be there with you, I can't exactly let my darling suffer in a foreign country."
Darling?
Hearing that word made her feel instantly better.
"Oh." Charlotte lifted her chin, gazing deeply at the man, the reluctance in her tone incredibly obvious. "In that case, I'll reward you with a hug."
"Thank you, Mrs. Blair."
Anthony gently pulled her into his embrace, patting her small head as his voice dropped to a husky whisper. "I'll come find you as soon as I'm done with work."
Done with work?
It wasn't as if she didn't know how massive his workload was.
By the time he was done, they would already be heading back home.
Charlotte hesitated but ultimately swallowed her depressing thoughts and pushed him away. "I'm leaving."
She couldn't even remember how long it had been since the two of them had been separated for more than two days.
So much so that even after boarding the plane and staring out the window at the elegant man outside, she still hadn't recovered her spirits.
"Boss, are you okay?"
Jackson and Adonis carried the luggage inside. Seeing their boss—who wasn't even afraid of fighting or killing—staring pitifully out the window, they asked cautiously.
"I'm fine."
Charlotte withdrew her gaze, her eyes unimaginably red.
"Boss, are you crying?"
Adonis, who was all brawn and no brains, blurted out instinctively.
