The Mocked Miss’s Hidden Crowns novel Chapter 1336

“I wouldn’t dare.”

Cedric was Newell’s most trusted man, so whatever he said carried Newell’s weight. The subordinate didn’t argue. He just bowed his head and told them to open the gates and clear the way.

“Charlotte, after you.”

She was the future queen of the Isle of Veil, after all.

“Where’s Newell?” Charlotte stepped forward, her cool gaze sweeping over the subordinate as she spoke, her voice low and almost hoarse.

“In the old villa,” the subordinate answered honestly.

“The old villa?”

Cedric’s face tightened when he heard that. He glanced at Charlotte, his tone serious. “That place used to be Emery and Damaris’s home after they got married. Ever since Emery died, Damaris has never let Newell anywhere near it.”

“What?” Charlotte frowned. That was a lot to process, and she didn’t quite get it.

“It’s complicated,” Cedric said as he led her inside, his expression still dark. “Damaris thinks Newell had something to do with Emery’s death. She’s hated him ever since he was a kid.”

Hated him?

Charlotte could pretty much figure out what that meant. She let out a cold, almost mocking smile, her eyes icy. “She experimented on her own kid. Who cares if a mom like that hates you?”

Anthony reached over and gently smoothed Charlotte’s hair, his voice soft. “Let’s just go in and see.”

Charlotte nodded.

Their group moved forward, a steady presence that nobody dared block. The entire Churchill family was under Newell’s control. No one even tried to stop them on their way in.

It didn’t take long to reach the old villa. There were several doctors waiting by the front door.
