The Last Time I Cried Your Name novel Chapter 447

"She's under observation in the ICU. We can't go in to see her right now."

After Jay finished speaking, he grabbed his jacket and pulled it on. As soon as he turned around, he saw Hans walking toward them.

Hans had been shielded by Parrish during the explosion. He had suffered a concussion, but it wasn't overly severe. He had rushed over the moment he woke up. He had already checked on Petty at the ICU. She had experienced some complications earlier, but thankfully, she was stable now.

Since he could only stand outside the ICU and couldn't actually see Petty, he decided to come over and check on Franco's condition.

Hans knew damn well that Franco had sustained these life-threatening injuries while saving Petty.

"Did the doctors say anything?"

Franco had been in surgery for a long time. Being in resuscitation for this long usually meant things were dire.

Jay and Galen chose not to mention that the doctor had already issued one critical condition notice.

"Just wait. He'll be out soon," Galen said.

He believed Franco would make it through this hurdle.

With Abacus and Petty waiting out here, he had to wake up.

Jackson nodded and told the others, "I'm going to check on Petty."

Hans reminded him, "You can't see her right now."

"I'll just go over," Jackson muttered, turning toward the intensive care unit. "Just standing outside the door is enough."

Hans knew Jackson had watched Petty grow up. It was only natural for him to worry and care for her, so he didn't say anything else.

If Franco hadn't saved her, Hans would naturally be waiting here until Franco was out of danger, just as he would have stood guard outside the ICU.

...

That afternoon, Petty was transferred from the intensive care unit to a VIP suite.

Cabinda had entered its rainy season. The downpour continued off and on, only coming to a halt by dusk.
