The IVF Secret That Shook a Dynasty novel Chapter 635

Vivica looked at Joseph and asked softly, "You didn't have time to sort out your work schedule, did you? Can you afford to stay here for three days? Maybe you should head back to Riverdale City and fly back down later. Chaim and I can stay here with my mom."

Joseph took her hand, the steady warmth of his palm immediately grounding her scattered anxiety.

"It's fine. The most important case I'm handling right now is actually the one against the Chase brothers. Being down here makes it easier to manage. I don't need to go back."

Relief instantly washed over Vivica. Deep down, she desperately wanted Joseph to stay by her side during this ordeal. If he genuinely had urgent business in Riverdale, she would have been understanding and let him go. After everything she had been through over the years, she had forged an ironclad resilience, fully capable of facing hardships and rock bottoms alone.

But having him stay meant she didn't have to be strong. The profound comfort of having someone solid to lean on made her incredibly thankful, once again, that she had chosen him.

After dinner, it was time to head back to the hotel.

Cheryl offered gently, "We have plenty of room at the house. Why don't you all just stay with us? It'll be easier to look after each other."

"Thank you, Aunt Cheryl, but we'd better not," Vivica politely declined. "Chaim's condition isn't entirely stable yet, and we have his doctor traveling with us just in case of an emergency during the night."

She wanted to stay with her mother, but her son's medical needs had to come first. Forced to choose, she had to prioritize Chaim.

Sitting in her wheelchair, Hillary had stopped crying, but she looked utterly drained, as if her soul had been scooped out.

Vivica crouched down in front of her. "Mom, we're going to head to the hotel now. Please try not to be too sad, and make sure you get some rest."

Hillary nodded with red-rimmed eyes. "I know. You too. Take care of yourself and watch over Chaim."
