It was a voice call request from Raymond.

Her heart began to pound erratically. A flood of thoughts raced through her mind. Had Raymond figured out she was lying? Was his aunt or uncle seriously ill?

Quintina, who had been playing with Chaim, noticed the persistent ringing and Vivica's strange expression. "Why aren't you answering?" she asked, her curiosity piqued.

She leaned over to glance at the phone screen and frowned. "Who's Raymond Smith?"

Vivica snapped back to the present. "Quintina, can you stay with Chaim? I need to take this call outside."

"Oh, okay," Quintina replied. Seeing Vivica hurry out, she called after her, concerned. "Are you alright? Who is that guy, really?"

Vivica didn't answer, closing the door behind her.

In the hallway, she stared at the incoming call, took a deep breath, and finally answered.

"Hello, Mr. Smith."

"Ms. Lynn, I'm sorry to bother you on a weekend again," Raymond said, his voice as polite and well-mannered as ever.

"It's no problem. What can I do for you, Mr. Smith?" Vivica asked, her voice calm and courteous despite the turmoil in her heart.

"Well, I couldn't help myself… I told my mother about you, about a young woman who looks just like my aunt. I had warned her not to say anything to my aunt, but my mother couldn't help herself either, so…"

Raymond trailed off, his voice laced with self-reproach. He knew that if this turned out to be a mistake, it would cause a great deal of trouble for her.

Vivica understood. Raymond's aunt now knew she existed.
