The IVF Secret That Shook a Dynasty novel Chapter 332

Without thinking, Vivica blurted out the first excuse that came to mind. “That was my son’s uncle. We had a family matter, and he was just passing by, so he gave me a ride.”

“Your son’s uncle? So, your ex-husband’s brother?”

“Hey, is he hitched yet?”

Vivica forced an awkward smile. “No, but he will be soon.”

“Ah, of course. The good ones are never on the market for long.”

The colleague sighed in disappointment.

“I can’t even imagine the kind of woman who gets to marry him. She must wake up every morning just stunned by how handsome her husband is.”

“I know, right? It’s the first time I’ve ever seen a man that tall, that handsome, and that rich in real life. Fate really played favorites with him.”

“Wait a minute, Vivica. If your ex-husband’s brother is that handsome and successful, your ex can’t be too far off, right? Why did you two get divorced?”

A sheepish smile was all Vivica could offer in response.

Thankfully, another colleague stepped in. “Why are you poking at old wounds? Come on, let’s get back to work.”

As the group walked away, they continued to whisper among themselves. “Rich men are the worst. He probably cheated!”

“Hey, stop it. Look at Vivica, she had to go back to work after her divorce, and she doesn’t even have time to take care of her sick son. Her ex-husband was clearly a jerk. The poor woman has been through enough, so just drop it.”

Vivica heard them but pretended not to, walking straight back to her desk.

Her colleagues were right about one thing—Joseph's face was handsome enough to startle you awake in the middle of the night.

On top of that, he was incredibly efficient, reliable, and ridiculously generous. She often felt like she was in a dream, one where the heavens had bestowed upon her a man so perfect he couldn’t be real.
