The IVF Secret That Shook a Dynasty novel Chapter 267

Vivica bit her lip, completely at a loss for words. That little traitor, Chaim. He was always on someone else's side, never thinking to cover for his own mother.

“Do you still think this has nothing to do with me?” Joseph pressed.

Feeling guilty, Vivica changed her tune. “Well… I suppose I will need you to look after Chaim for the next few days.”

“Then first answer my question. Did you go on this trip specifically to avoid me?” Joseph asked, pressing his advantage while he knew she wouldn't dare brush him off.

“No, of course not… It was purely for work.”

“I don’t believe you.”

Vivica had just stepped out of the building when her colleague, Holly, called out for her to hurry up. She broke into a light jog to catch up.

“Look… I’m on my way to dinner now. Can we talk about this later tonight when I’m back at the hotel?”

Before Joseph could reply, she ended the call.

By the seven-seater van, Zavier was holding the door open. He saw the unnatural expression on her face as she approached. “Is everything alright? Is it about your son?” he asked with concern.

“No, it’s nothing. I was just talking to a friend who’s helping me look after him,” Vivica replied politely.

Raymond raised an eyebrow, clearly surprised. “Ms. Lynn, you’re married with a child already?”

Vivica simply nodded. “Yes.” She saw no need to share the detail that she was already divorced.

They all got into the van and headed to the restaurant. Vivica and Holly took the last row. As soon as she sat down, her phone buzzed with another message. It was Joseph again.

[Where did you go for this trip? How many people are with you? Men or women?]
