As soon as the elevator doors closed, Vivica, still reeling from the surprise, pulled out her phone and dialed Quintina.
“Hey, Quintina, guess where I am right now?” Vivica whispered, her voice buzzing with excitement.
Quintina, who was in the middle of lunch, played along. “Where? On a date with Mr. Baird?”
“Tsk, don’t be ridiculous.” Vivica stepped out of the elevator, glanced around to find the master suite, and lowered her voice again. “Remember that villa Sheridan and Melanie insisted on giving me? I finally had a chance to see it today, and it’s… it’s absolutely incredible! I feel like I’m dreaming. I can’t believe it.”
“Of course! The Bairds are a true dynasty, an old-money family. Sheridan is still the chairman of the Baird Group, you know, and Joseph is a major shareholder. My uncle told me he’s also invested in several tech and finance companies. Just think about how much the tech sector has boomed these last few years—Mr. Baird must be raking it in. You couldn’t find a more eligible bachelor in the entire city with his kind of Midas touch.”
Vivica listened in awe, but couldn't help but grumble, “No wonder he once said money was just a number to him.”
“Exactly. So, are you tempted yet? If you can land him, you’ll be set for life with billions.”
“I have enough money to live comfortably. Why would I trade my hard-won freedom for cash?”
“Oh, please, keep telling yourself that!”
After hanging up, Vivica pushed open the door to the master bedroom and felt like she had stepped into another new world.
The suite was a sprawling sixty square meters, divided into a sleeping area, an en-suite bathroom, a walk-in closet, and a separate sitting area.
