Whitney affectionately linked arms with Amelia, and they headed toward the dining room together.

Jeremy followed close behind, his gaze never leaving Amelia.

Watching this, Bridget felt even more puzzled and irritated.

She was the eldest here, yet everyone was fawning over and paying attention to that scheming girl.

But she couldn’t exactly say anything, so she followed along, swallowing her frustration.

Once seated at the dining table, she noticed the spread was full of fried foods and high-calorie dishes, some even glistening with hot sauce that looked obviously spicy.

“Why is everything so unhealthy? Eating too much of this is bad for you.” Bridget couldn’t help but frown.

“These are all Amelia’s favorites,” Whitney answered naturally, beaming at her. “Right, Amelia? Don’t worry, I know it looks fried, but our nutritionist approved everything. It’s all made with fresh ingredients and the finest seasonings. Eat to your heart’s content.”

“Um, I’m fine with anything, really.” Amelia felt a little embarrassed. “You don’t have to cater to my tastes. I like lighter dishes too.”

She glanced at Bridget, figuring that people her age probably preferred lighter, healthier fare.

Even though she personally loved crispy, savory foods, especially spicy ones.

But she genuinely enjoyed milder dishes too.

As long as the food tasted good, she could enjoy just about anything. She wasn’t a picky eater.

Hearing her say this, Bridget’s expression softened ever so slightly.

At least this girl had some sense and knew to show her a bit of consideration.

“Alright then, from now on I’ll have every kind of dish prepared for you. Whatever you like, you’ll have it all.”

Amelia was speechless.

That really wasn’t necessary. Did that mean every time she visited, they’d prepare an entire feast?

That seemed way too extravagant.

“By the way, Bridget, you already ate before coming over, right? So we don’t need to serve you?”

Whitney finally turned to her mother-in-law, knowing that she usually preferred eating earlier and wasn’t accustomed to this type of cuisine.

So… she wouldn’t need to dine with them, right?

“Hmph! Who said I already ate? Of course I came here without eating first.” Bridget let out a cold huff,

Even though she had already eaten before coming, she felt that sitting there not eating anything would make her look like a complete outsider.

In her younger days, she had always been used to calling the shots, so she certainly wasn’t about to fade into the background now.

Whitney felt helpless. Why was Bridget being so stubborn today?

She couldn’t say anything about it, so she personally got up and went to the kitchen to get a plate, placing it in front of Bridget.

Bridget looked at the plate. She was already full, but for the sake of appearances, she picked up her fork and took a bite of one of the dishes.

After just a few chews, her brow furrowed. The flavors were nothing like what she usually ate.

But with everyone watching, she couldn’t exactly spit it out, so she forced herself to swallow.

Meanwhile, Jeremy was the picture of good table manners, silently serving food onto Amelia’s plate.

The two of them had eaten out together many times, and even during filming, they had ordered takeout together on numerous occasions.

He had quietly taken note of every dish she liked and which ones she reached for most often.

And now, the dishes he was quietly placing on her plate were exactly her favorites.

Whitney wanted to serve food to her precious future daughter-in-law too, but her son was quietly making his move. She couldn’t exactly steal his spotlight.

So she let her words do the heavy lifting instead.
