Jason’s breath came fast and shaky.
William sounded puzzled. “Jason? Jason, why aren’t you saying anything? Is everything okay? You sound out of breath.”
Jason’s eyes were red. “William, we’ll… we’ll be ready in a minute.”
William laughed on the other end. “No worries, Jason. Honestly, I always thought you weren’t into women. Now look at you, you’ve got a girlfriend and everything…”
But Jason barely heard him now. Every nerve in his body was lit up, all his focus drawn to a single point, until it felt like fireworks exploded behind his eyes.
He collapsed, face down on Lilly’s shoulder.
“Jason? Jason…”
He brought the phone to his lips, his voice rough and low. “William, I’ll call you back later.”
“Alright.”
Once the call ended, Jason started kissing Lilly’s face, trailing along her cheeks, her eyelids, finally finding her lips again.
She was the first and only woman he’d ever been with. Sweet, soft, the kind of heiress people talked about. After three years apart, he’d grown up and his desire for her had only gotten stronger, deeper, almost impossible to control.
Lilly wanted him just as much. She wrapped her arms around his neck and kissed him back.
But there was still business to take care of. Jason forced himself to pull away. “We should get ready. William’s waiting.”
Lilly nodded. “I need to talk to him about something.”
“If you need help with anything, just say the word,” Jason told her.
Lilly knew he wasn’t Jace, the poor boy, anymore. He was Jason now, a rising star in the business world.
She knew how to be with Jace. With Jason, she was still figuring it out.
