The Genius Ex-Wife’s Revenge Portfolio novel Chapter 787

David flicked his hand, and a squad of bodyguards in black suits filed in, closing ranks around Louise and Jessa.

David’s voice was cold. “Louise, you’re finished. There’s nowhere to run. If you don’t lift the curse today, you won’t live to see another sunrise.”

Moss fixed his gaze on her. “Louise, this is it for you. Break the curse, now.”

Louise didn’t even blink. “Ella, you’re supposed to be the legendary Doctor E, aren’t you? Surely you know that if I die, the curse in David’s body will stay forever. So really, I should be the last person you want to see hurt. You’d better pray I live a long, long life.”

Ella frowned, worry creasing her forehead.

Lilly snapped, “Enough with the tricks, Louise. Someone, grab her.”

The bodyguards moved in, ready to seize Louise.

Jessa tensed, fear flickering in her eyes.

Louise stayed calm, almost too calm. She didn’t bother to move. Instead, she gave a sly, unsettling smile, then started murmuring under her breath.

Suddenly, David gasped in pain. A sharp ache ripped through his head. Sweat poured down his face, and with a heavy thud, he dropped to his knees.

Ella’s face went pale. “David!”

Lilly and the others rushed over. “Mr. Harmon!”

Ella quickly checked his pulse. His heartbeat was racing and uneven. The dark magic was hitting hard and fast, and she couldn’t stop it right now.

“David, are you alright?” Moss and Joanna hovered nearby, their voices tight with worry.

David grabbed his head, barely able to speak. “It hurts. My head... it’s killing me...”

“David, just hang in there. It’ll be over soon. I promise.”
