He really had the nerve to bring that up.

Ella’s voice was steady. “We were supposed to, but you didn’t show up. Isn’t that right, Mr. Harmon?”

“Ella, just let me explain.”

“Okay, I’ll give you a chance,” she said. “Go ahead. I’m listening.”

“Can I at least come in first? Please, let me in and I’ll explain everything.”
