The Genius Ex-Wife’s Revenge Portfolio novel Chapter 711

Joanna smiled, a little mischievous. “Mr. Wade, do you even hear yourself right now? You sound jealous.”

Moss stared at her, annoyed by how cheerful she looked. “Tell me what I said that was wrong. You had our daughter, sent her away without a word, then disappeared for more than twenty years. If I hadn’t tracked you down, were you planning to stay gone forever?”

Joanna let out a cold laugh. Back then, it was Louise who poisoned her. Louise was always by his side, and their daughter could never stay safely in the Capital.

Giving birth nearly killed her, and her own people had to sneak her away. She’d been unconscious all these years, only waking up recently after all that poison.

“Mr. Wade, the past is the past. There’s nothing left to talk about. Just let me know when the DNA results are in. I’ve got things to do, so I’ll be leaving now.”

She turned on her heel.

Moss lost his patience completely. He grabbed her by the arm and pushed her up against the wall, his tall frame closing in and blocking her escape. “Joanna, what’s with this attitude? You left with our daughter for decades and now you won’t even give me an explanation? What right do you have to act so high and mighty?”

Joanna looked up at him without flinching. “Mr. Wade, why are you so worked up? Haven’t you found anyone to help you... relax?”

As she spoke, she lifted her leg, the sharp tip of her high heel tracing slowly up his black trousers.

Her red dress had a slit, and the motion revealed a glimpse of her perfect leg.

Moss gripped her shoulders, his eyes burning with anger and something else. “We’re in public. What are you trying to do?”
