The Genius Ex-Wife’s Revenge Portfolio novel Chapter 701

Lola leaned in and kissed Ella on the cheek. “Mommy, I’m really okay. There’s just one thing…”

Ella’s worry showed in her eyes. “What’s wrong? Tell me, Lola.”

Lola gave a sheepish little smile. “I just missed you so much. At night, when I couldn’t see you, I even cried a little.”

That broke through Ella’s worry, and she hugged Lola tight, holding her as close as she could. “Oh, sweetheart, Mommy missed you too. So much.”

Mrs. Harmon looked over, her voice gentle. “Ella, you’re here?”

Ella stood up, concern still in her voice. “Mrs. Harmon, are you okay?”

Mrs. Harmon gave a small shake of her head. “I’m all right.”

Suddenly, Jessa’s voice cut through the room. “Ella, how did you even find this place? Wait, did you… follow me?”

Ella’s gaze settled calmly on Jessa. “Good guess, Ms. Wade. I did follow you. I figured if I kept an eye on you, you’d eventually try to sneak out. I’ve been waiting for this moment.”

Jessa’s jaw tightened and her fists clenched. She realized she’d been outplayed. Ella had won.

Ella pressed on. “Anything left to say for yourself?”

Jessa hesitated, her voice shaky. “I…”

At that moment, David strode in, his eyes cold as they met Jessa’s. “Jessa, I can’t believe you’d go this far. You kidnapped Lola and my mom.”

Jessa went pale. She rushed to David, grabbing his sleeve. “David, please, listen to me. I just wanted to take Ella’s daughter. I wasn’t going to hurt your mom, I swear…”
