The Billionaire Who Stole My Heart novel Chapter 440

Grace was a bit ticked off. After comforting Joie a bit, she headed upstairs.

...

Perhaps because he'd thrown around some harsh words that night, Isaac hadn't shown his face at Brittany’s Studio for several days in a row.

The secretary had an inkling something was off but didn't dare ask.

Fresh out of a meeting, Brittany got a call from Randell Moore.

"Bri, I've run into some trouble overseas and can't make it back home for now. You holding up okay?"

Randell didn't sound too pleased. If he weren't talking to Brittany, he would have lost his temper by now.

Chaos greeted him when he returned to Wall Street, and much of the mess was Isaac's making!

That guy was all polite to his face but tripped him up behind his back. And he couldn't even tell Brittany!

"I'm good."

"What's the problem? Need me to step in?"

Randell declined. "No need. Just take care of yourself."

He had been independent since he was a kid. For all these years, he had been shouldering everything alone. He could never tell Brittany about his difficulties.

After hanging up, Brittany dove into her next round of work.

Despite being pregnant, Brittany's work enthusiasm was unaffected. For a whole week, she threw herself into her work, often staying late into the night without going home.

Kari was frowning at the sight.

"Tina, can she handle all these late nights in her condition?"

Having tidied the office desk, Tina glanced at Brittany, who was still working on design drafts. "You should give Mr. Salter a call."

That was what Kari was waiting for. She immediately reached out to Isaac.

Upon hearing that Brittany wasn't resting properly and was solely focused on her work, Isaac rushed over.

"Mr. Salter."

Kari was waiting at the entrance. After seeing him coming, she hurried forward to greet him.

"Ms. Dustin hasn't taken a lunch break for days. Did you guys have a fight?"

Isaac didn't like airing his dirty laundry in public.

"You guessed it." Nathan knew she was sharp. "Mrs. Salter seems to be upset. Could you maybe try talking to her?"

He knew friends could be very helpful in these situations.

If Kari was willing to help, Mr. Salter wouldn't have to be so anxious.

Kari suddenly became very angry, and she pulled out twenty bucks from her wallet.

"I'd appreciate it if you'd show up less in my life!"

She was too naive. How could she actually believe that Nathan worked for a car rental company?

Kari shot Nathan a glare, then left swiftly.

Nathan stood there, completely clueless about what had just happened. What the hell happened?

Wasn't everything fine before?

And what was this twenty bucks for?

Was it a tip for spending the night with him?
