The Best Revenge It Wasn't Even Your Child novel Chapter 447

Back when Sally was trying to get under Catherine’s skin, she’d sent a bunch of screenshots. Catherine had found it all so annoying that she ended up blocking Sally, but she never actually deleted the chat history.

Turns out, that decision was finally paying off.

Now, as Catherine forwarded the screenshots one after another, Belinda scrolled through them, her face growing darker with every new message. It was all petty, manipulative stuff. Adelina’s actions made Belinda’s cheeks burn with embarrassment, even though she wasn’t the one who did anything.

“Belinda, whatever’s going on between Lance and Adelina, I really hope you can leave me out of it. Whether Adelina asked you to come here to take out her anger on me or so you’d pressure Lance into returning to Cabinda, I have nothing to do with it. I shouldn’t be dragged into your family drama. Please, just let me go.”

Catherine spoke calmly, every word steady and clear.

The little one started to get restless in the stroller, twisting and squirming, babbling as he pointed off into the distance.

“If I could, I’d quit this job right now. Honestly, I’d be happier with a letter of resignation than with this fifty-million check.”

Her eyes were dark and bright, full of sincerity.

Belinda’s anger broke apart in the face of Catherine’s quiet determination. She couldn’t say anything else, just stood there and watched as Catherine pushed the stroller away.

Half an hour later, at Adelina’s apartment.

Belinda had called ahead. As soon as she saw Belinda’s car pull up, Adelina hurried to the door.

“Belinda, you’re back?” She greeted her with a nervous smile and took her bag.

“Adelina, you’re getting more and more out of control. It wasn’t enough for you to make Lance miserable over Catherine, but now you’ve dragged me all the way here to back you up, and it turns out you’ve been lying to me this whole time!” Belinda’s cheeks flushed with anger. She pointed at Adelina, her voice trembling with disappointment. “You’re just pushing Lance closer to Catherine!”

“Belinda, I never wanted this!” Adelina burst out. “But have you thought about it? If Lance didn’t come to Eldervale because we fought, then why did he come? I don’t have proof the baby is his, but that’s the only thing that explains why he’s acting so weird…”

Everything seemed to come back to Lance’s strange behavior.

Belinda felt dizzy. “You two are going to be the death of me!”

Adelina rushed over to steady her. “Belinda, I’m sorry. I shouldn’t have lied, I was just so scared of losing Lance. I can’t live without him. I’ll stop causing trouble, I’ll go back to Cabinda right now and wait for Lance to marry me. As long as he’ll still have me, I’ll accept it… even if he keeps Catherine around or has a child with her…”

“He’ll marry you. I’ll make sure Lance marries you,” Belinda said, her voice sharp with determination. “This engagement can’t fall apart again.”
