The Best Revenge It Wasn't Even Your Child novel Chapter 410

Sally and Adelina were tangled up in this mess together, no doubt about it.

Catherine didn’t want any of this drama spilling into work. The last thing she needed was trouble messing with her reputation or ruining her future.

“Quitting sounds nice, but getting fired? That’s just embarrassing, especially when we haven’t done anything wrong,” Lorinda said, giving Catherine a playful wink. “Don’t worry, I’m on your side.”

Catherine nodded and glanced upstairs. “You’re really getting discharged today? Is he okay now?”

“The fever’s gone. Harrell said we just need to keep an eye on him at home,” Lorinda replied.

Just a few days of this and Lorinda already felt completely wiped out. Not having to work was one thing, but watching her kid get sick was a million times more stressful than any office job.

“You should rest. I’m heading out,” Catherine said.

She had barely parked her car before Lorinda called her over for a late-night snack. Catherine hadn’t even managed a bite of birthday cake at the party, so she was starving.

Walking out of Lorinda’s place, something popped into her mind. She pulled out her phone and shot Gavin a quick message, telling him to come over so she could help him with his wound.

She had barely set foot inside her apartment before Gavin showed up.

“I told you to call me if you needed help with the dressing, but you just sent a message. Good thing I set an alarm, or I’d have missed it,” Gavin grumbled. He knew Catherine did it on purpose.

“Missing one day won’t kill you,” Catherine said flatly, not even pretending she wanted to help.

“I have to head out early tomorrow, so if we do this now, I won’t bother you again tonight,” Gavin said as he sat down awkwardly. “Honestly, it feels like moving around is even harder today.”

His knee was still healing, and the skin felt tight around the scab. Bending it was tough, so getting around wasn’t easy.

“Just deal with it for a few more days. After I put on the medicine, take it home and do it yourself tomorrow,” Catherine said, then quickly treated his knee, packed the iodine and cotton swabs, and handed everything over.
