“Shut up! You have no right to talk about Grady!” Victoria’s gaze turned sharp as ice, and the veins on the back of her hand bulged as she tightened her grip on the knife.
She was fighting the overwhelming urge to kill Genevieve.
Genevieve met the chilling, murderous intent in Victoria’s eyes, and her heart skipped a beat. The certainty she’d felt a moment ago began to waver.
But her pride wouldn’t allow her to back down. Forcing herself to remain calm, she shot back, “What? If you don’t want to hear me say his name, then kill me!”
“Victoria, you go on and on about how much you love Grady, but do you have the guts to kill me, go to prison, and leave him to fend for himself?”
She practically screamed the last few words, as if the volume alone could give her more courage.
Victoria stared at her coldly, not responding immediately.
Seeing this, Genevieve mistakenly thought she’d struck a nerve, leaving Victoria with no comeback.
She grinned, her laughter wild and mocking. “Victoria, you’re nothing but a coward, a pathetic clown! You don’t have the guts to kill me. You’re just trying to scare me with a knife so I’ll tell you where Garnett is!”
“You guessed right. I do know where he is. Do you want to know?”
“I can tell you,” Genevieve said, her eyes filled with venom as she enunciated each word. “Get on your knees, bow your head to the floor three times, and I’ll tell you.”
Victoria’s eyes narrowed, a glint of cold steel in them. Her lips parted slightly. “Genevieve, who gave you the confidence to think I wouldn’t dare kill you?”
“You’ve analyzed so much, but don’t you find it strange? I kicked down the door and have been making all this commotion, yet no one has come in.”
At those words, the smile on Genevieve’s face froze.
“What did you do?”
Victoria didn’t answer directly, only offering a smirk. “What do you think?”
Genevieve’s heart sank as she suddenly remembered how Elias had defended Victoria last time. A terrible thought crept into her mind.
Could Elias have already covered for her?
If he used his power to remove all the staff and security cameras, then even if the police investigated Victoria, they would have no concrete evidence. And with the protection of the Shawn family, they could never convict her!
So that’s why Victoria was acting so bold and fearless today!
