Yolanda saw that Eden had just pulled on his pants, his upper body still bare, his chest and back covered in scratches from a woman’s nails.
Meanwhile, Mignon was still on the bed, the picture of a tear-streaked damsel in distress.
Yolanda felt a surge of fury that nearly drove her mad. She lunged toward the bed and grabbed a handful of Mignon’s hair.
“You little tramp, is seducing men the only thing you know how to do!”
“I didn’t! It was him… he forced me!” Mignon, still naked, was powerless to fight back. Yolanda dragged her out from under the covers, completely exposed.
Most of the onlookers were wives and daughters from prominent families, but a few men were present.
Bennett hadn't even bothered to come in, likely already imagining the scene inside. The other men present averted their eyes and quickly left.
Yolanda dragged a naked Mignon from the bed, her face a mess of tears as she cried pitifully.
She truly felt wronged. It was supposed to be Bennett, so how did it end up being Eden, an illegitimate son? Not only was he illegitimate, but he was also married.
The story of how Yolanda had caught Eden in bed with a model and driven the woman to her death was well-known throughout their social circles.
Mignon was so terrified she could do nothing but cry, forgetting everything else.
Just then, Nelly burst into the room from outside.
“Mignon, Mignon!” Nelly pushed through the crowd, rushing in to see Yolanda kicking and punching Mignon.
And her daughter, Mignon, wasn’t even wearing any clothes.
Eden was an illegitimate son with a low status and a wife. Their scheme was a complete failure.
But at this point, they had no choice but to pin it on Eden. There was no turning back.
Nelly held Mignon with one arm and pointed at Eden with the other. “My daughter was feeling unwell, so she came to a room to rest. I can't believe she was… was raped by a monster like you! I’m calling the police! I’m going to have you thrown in jail!”
Nelly was hysterical, her performance utterly convincing. Mignon, nestled in her arms, played the part of the victim to perfection, looking utterly pitiful.
Today was the Thompson family's banquet, and Nelly and Mignon hadn't been invited. After all, their reputations were in tatters, and the Thompsons wouldn't invite such trouble upon themselves.
But with all the chaos, it seemed everyone had overlooked this detail, their thoughts completely swayed by the mother-daughter duo.
