She Was the Treasure All Along novel Chapter 679

Sybil dropped her head to the floor, sobbing hysterically. She stayed on her knees, groveling and begging. "Loyce, I know I was horrible to you! I know I framed you, I know I even tried to kill you! But I didn't have a choice! My mother told me I had to be the best! She told me I had to become a top-tier billionaire's wife! I shouldn't have wanted any of it. I'm just a normal person..."

"Help me... please, help me!" Sybil's sanity shattered completely. "I can't do this anymore! My husband is a walking corpse! He crawls on top of me like a slug! I'm so disgusted I want to die! I really want to die!"

Her so-called fairy-tale marriage was nothing more than a transaction. Her parents had sold her to an elderly widower for power. Her reputation was so thoroughly destroyed that she was the laughingstock of the elite circle.

She hadn't just lost her wealth and status; she had lost her soul and every shred of her dignity.

Furious at her daughter's humiliating breakdown, Alicia stormed back over, grabbed Sybil by the hair, and yanked her off the floor. "You do not beg this little bitch! I gave birth to you! If you're going to die, it'll be when I say so! Get up and stop embarrassing me!"

The three of them practically dragged each other out the door, screaming all the way.

Watching the chaotic exit, Gordon let out a heavy sigh.

"Sybil used to be such a bright girl. But one wrong step ruined her entire life."

"A person utterly consumed by malice doesn't deserve pity," Lucian stated flatly.

Gordon couldn't argue with that. She wasn't even a direct descendant of the main family, yet she had spent her life trying to destroy his granddaughter. There was no forgiving that.

"Alright, enough of this," Morris said warmly. "Let's not let irrelevant people ruin our Christmas Eve."

Gordon waved his hand, as if physically shooing the bad vibes out of the room. His face broke into a warm, grandfatherly smile. "He's right. The trash has taken itself out. It's time for our family to celebrate."

When the military convoy brought Zelie back, Lucian went out to the courtyard to receive her.

The lead driver stepped out and gave Lucian a crisp salute. Then, dropping his military stoicism, he gave Lucian a wide grin. "You've gotta bring her to the party this year, Admiral. The whole unit is dying to meet your girl. We all want to celebrate the holidays with you."

"I haven't been officially reinstated yet," Lucian replied.

"It's only a matter of time!" The soldier chuckled, practically shoving two VIP passes into Lucian's hand. "We threw this party together ourselves! It's going to be wild. You have to come!"

Without waiting for an answer, the soldier hopped back into the armored vehicle and sped off.

No one knew how wildly the soldier's heart was hammering against his ribs after pulling that stunt. He turned to his co-pilot, his voice shaking. "Did you see that?! Did you see?!"

"See what? You fanboying over the Admiral?"
