She Was the Treasure All Along novel Chapter 678

Edgar, who had been sitting back and enjoying his wife's gloating, instantly turned purple at Forrest's disrespect. Believing his recent "success" finally put him on equal footing, he puffed out his chest and glared at Gordon. "Is this how you raise him? Where are his manners?"

Gordon didn't even blink. "I'm just a retired old man. I don't run this house anymore."

Forrest stared at Edgar, his mind flashing back to what Loyce had said in the car. Looking at the man who had likely played a role in destroying their family, Forrest's disgust boiled over. "Get. Out."

Edgar stood up furiously, pointing a trembling finger at Loyce. "It's a good thing I didn't listen to you back then! It's laughable that the board actually almost sided with you against me. Do you have any idea what they think of you now?"

"Macrostar Production would collapse without me! So what if you know a little medicine? You're just a naive little girl with zero business acumen. Did you really think they'd let you take control?"

Edgar stepped right into Loyce's personal space, lowering his voice to a venomous whisper. "You will never get your parents' inheritance. You want to fight me for it? I'll burn it to the ground before I let you have a single cent."

That was the exact wrong thing to say.

Loyce's eyes narrowed. Without a word of warning, she delivered a brutal, sweeping kick to the back of Edgar's knees.

The middle-aged man let out a pathetic yelp as his legs buckled, crashing hard onto the marble floor. Before anyone could react, Loyce's aura shifted from calm to terrifying. She stepped forward and slammed the sole of her boot down hard against his throat.

Edgar's face instantly turned a violent shade of purple. He grabbed her leg with both hands, frantically trying to push her off, but it was like trying to lift a steel girder. He couldn't budge her an inch.

Realizing her husband was suffocating, Alicia shrieked. "Loyce! What are you doing?! Are you trying to kill him in broad daylight?!"

She lunged forward to shove Loyce away, but the second her hand came close, Loyce backhanded her with blistering speed.

*SMACK!*

The sound echoed like a gunshot through the room. The sheer force of the blow sent Alicia reeling. "You hit me in the face?!"

Before she could even process it, Loyce's hand cracked across the other side of her face.
