She Was the Treasure All Along novel Chapter 285

“You wouldn't dare!” Sapphire spun around and pushed him away, pointing a finger at his nose and screaming, “You're insane! How could you!”

Gavin stumbled back, landing against the liquor table, his laughter wild and perverse. “You decide. Help me, or your pictures will be plastered all over the city by tomorrow morning.”

Sapphire finally broke, tears welling in her eyes. “I'll help you.”

But once she was back in her car, the tears of submission were gone, replaced by a look of profound hatred. She realized now that Gavin had been plotting against her from the very beginning.

But this time, who was the cat, and who was the mouse?

...

After Loyce received Sapphire's message, she learned that Gavin, believing he had her completely under his thumb, had given her access to his clandestine organ trafficking operations. When Sapphire asked when they could spring the trap, Loyce told her to wait a week. Informing Gavin that a match had been found too quickly would only arouse suspicion.

With that matter moving forward, Loyce had some free time and went to pick up Giselle from school. They intended to go to a nearby coffee shop for their tutoring session.

It was too far for Giselle to always travel to Serenity Manor, and she would get home too late, so they had decided to meet somewhere closer. Tomorrow was the midterm exam.

As Giselle was leaving school, Loyce ran into the principal of Victory High School. She didn't recognize him, but he had heard of her.

“Loyce,” the principal said, warmly shaking her hand. “My name is Clayton. You don't know me, but you certainly know Allen.”

Clayton even mimed a neck-stretching motion. “You know how we both have those stiff necks and like to hang them?”
