She Was the Treasure All Along novel Chapter 108

A wave of shock rippled through the students. Human organ trafficking was a serious crime. The Sampson family, always so respectable and glamorous, was involved in something like that?

Without Loyce having to do a thing, Quiana was drowned in a sea of accusatory whispers.

Loyce crouched down, her fingers gently tilting Quiana’s chin up. She let out a soft sigh. "You know, by driving me away, it seems you ripped out the very spine supporting the Sampson family. And now you’re being dragged down into hell with them."

"You denied my medicine worked and trusted Sapphire Walsh instead, which led to Hamilton's legs developing necrosis. Now he's facing amputation and will be a cripple for life. You also took over your mother's follow-up care, confidently promising your family you would make them better. And they believed you."

Loyce’s gaze was subtle yet cruel, her tone deceptively gentle. "Now, not only have their conditions failed to improve, they’re getting progressively worse. You know you’ve made a catastrophic mistake, so you came here to stage this little drama, didn't you? If I had helped and failed, you could have conveniently shifted all the blame onto me."

Quiana’s eyes trembled. Loyce had seen right through her. Not only that, she’d been hoping to find a new fiancé, and her sights were set on Hank.

She lifted her head, tears streaming down her face. "Loyce, it was all my fault before. I shouldn't have tried to steal our family's affection. You can hit me, curse me, do whatever you want, as long as you save my mother and Hamilton!"

Hank’s frown deepened. He pulled Loyce to her feet. "Are you trying to court bad luck? Why are you even wasting your breath on someone like her?"

Quiana froze.

"Someone like what?" Loyce asked innocently.

"Scheming women who claw their way up," Hank said with disgust. "I’ve seen more of them than I can count. You should stay away from such low-class people."

Quiana nearly fainted. Low-class? Was she now considered lower than Loyce?

Loyce looked down at the pathetic figure Quiana cut. "The real medicine that can cure your mother... didn't you already know what it was? Why haven't you prepared it? Is it because you can't afford it even if you empty your family's coffers? Or is it that you have the means but refuse to treat them?"

Hank played along. "That Hamilton fellow has earned quite a fortune. If he dies, and with Byron in jail, this sister could easily conspire with Lester…"

He left the sentence hanging, but the implication was clear. Quiana might be plotting with Lester to seize the family assets.

This time, Quiana's scheme had completely backfired. Someone in the crowd called her a bitch, and soon, more and more people joined in, hurling accusations at her. She desperately shook her head and tried to explain, but her words were lost in the cacophony.

Loyce watched her dispassionately. The humiliation Quiana was enduring now was exactly what she herself had once suffered. She deserved it!
