She Was the Treasure All Along novel Chapter 107

Lucian was a military man; he never lied about serious matters. At this point, Hank was eighty percent convinced.

Loyce pulled him over to the lab bench, where her meticulously detailed research notes were spread out. She gathered them into a neat pile and handed them to him. "Hank, these are my experiment files. You can look them over. If you have any questions, just ask me."

Hank finally took the files. "Alright, I'll read them."

"It's getting late," Lucian added. "Let's grab a bite together."

"We'll eat at home," Hank retorted instantly.

"It’s a two-hour drive from the university to the manor," Lucian pointed out.

Loyce agreed it was a hassle. She also needed to stop by Blossom Drugstore later to check on Marcella. "There are plenty of restaurants near campus," she suggested. "Let's just grab a bite somewhere around here."

Hank reluctantly agreed. "Fine. What do you want to eat, Loyce?"

"A new steakhouse just opened nearby," Lucian offered. "The atmosphere is nice."

Loyce nodded. "Let's go there, then."

She was the first to step out of the lab and ran right into a haggard-looking Quiana, who was staring blankly at the lab’s nameplate.

Seeing Loyce, Quiana flinched, then asked instinctively, "What are you doing here?"

Loyce raised an eyebrow. "The university assigned this lab to me for my experiments. Why shouldn't I be here?"

Quiana gazed at Loyce's face, which seemed even more radiant and striking in the sunlight. Her fists clenched as jealousy burned within her. The woman she had worked so hard to drive away, the conniving bitch who had usurped her life for over a decade—how was it that after leaving the Sampson family, her life was only getting better? Meanwhile, her own life was falling apart. The Vaughn family had broken off her engagement, making her a laughingstock among her friends. Her brothers had grown cold and distant, clearly holding her responsible. Things were getting worse by the day.

Quiana was about to lash out when she caught sight of two handsome men emerging from the lab behind Loyce. She recognized them immediately—powerful figures from the absolute pinnacle of society, the kind of elite family she dreamed of marrying into.

In an instant, her plan changed. She dropped to her knees before Loyce and grabbed her pant leg. "Loyce, I'm begging you! Just please, save our mother! Please!"

Her desperate cries attracted the attention of a few students passing by, who stopped to stare curiously.

Hank and Lucian walked out, Hank frowning. "What's going on?"
