No Divorce? The Billionaire's Love Chase! novel Chapter 705

The matriarch, exhausted, pushed Ann's hand away and stood up. "Ann," she said, "just do as Kenny and Jackie have arranged." Gideon's mother quickly helped the matriarch back to her room, and the patriarch followed them out. Ann's mind was buzzing, her thoughts in chaos.

Jackie instructed the butler, Palmer, "Go and pack Miss Ann's luggage." She added pointedly, "Ann is only going to be staying elsewhere for a short while. Just pack a few changes of clothes. There's no need to pack any valuables." Ann immediately became anxious. "Jackie, what do you mean by that?" Jackie explained, "Ann, I'm doing this for your own good. If people see you leaving the Harvest estate with bags and bags of luggage, they'll think you've been kicked out."

Ann was no fool. On the day of her recognition banquet, the gifts she received were worth a fortune. Even if she was only leaving temporarily, she had to take them with her. They absolutely could not be left at the Harvest estate. "Jackie," Ann said, "I'll pack my own things. No need to trouble anyone else." Ann tried to head upstairs but was blocked by Gideon's mother, who had returned to the living room.

Just as Ann was trying to figure out how to retrieve the valuables from her room, the butler, Palmer, came downstairs carrying a single suitcase. Ann tried to open the suitcase to check its contents, but Jackie stopped her. "I'll take you to your new place. You can check it when we get there; it won't be too late." And just like that, through a mix of coercion and deception, Ann was escorted out of the Harvest estate.

About ten minutes later, they arrived at a small, remote studio apartment on the west side of the city. Jackie said to Ann, "You'll stay here for now. Once Grandma has calmed down, she will personally come to bring you back." Ann looked at the tiny studio, smaller than a bird's nest, and her face turned green. It was smaller than a public restroom, and the furniture was old and worn, clearly unoccupied for a long time. This bitch had actually arranged for her to live here.

She gritted her teeth and demanded, "Jackie, you expect me to live here?" Ann threw the suitcase in her hand to the floor, threatening her. "Does Grandma know you're treating me like this?" Jackie looked Ann up and down, a smirk playing on her lips. "Ann, I don't know whether to call you stupid or just plain stupid." Jackie continued, "You gave the matriarch a kidney, and you're the only daughter of her most beloved youngest son. Without the matriarch's approval, who would dare to treat you like this?"

Ann shook her head in disbelief. "No, that's not possible. She's just angry for the moment. She'll come and get me back soon." Jackie's words were like a bucket of ice water, chilling Ann to the bone. "What do you think the Harvest family is? Grandma let you in before because she kept it from us. Now that we know what a vicious woman you are, do you really think we'll let you back through the doors of the Harvest estate?"

Panicked, Ann's voice rose. "I'm a Harvest too! You have no right to kick me out!" Jackie let out a cold laugh. "Ann, my in-laws, my husband and his siblings, and I—we are all tied together as one unit. The value we create for the Harvest family is beyond what you can imagine. Do you really think Grandma would give us up, give up the entire main branch of the family, for a woman with a tainted past like you?" Ann's legs gave out, and she collapsed onto the floor. Jackie, in her high heels, turned sharply and walked away.

As Jackie exited the apartment building, she happened to run into Celia Hawk and a few of her friends. Seeing Jackie, Celia immediately hurried forward to greet her obsequiously. "Jackie, what brings you to a poor place like this?"
