Claudia met York's cautious gaze and silently looked away. If it hadn't been for York just now, she didn't know how long her family would have been tangled up with that couple. Jessica Stone glanced at Claudia. "It's not often York comes over. Your dad and I will make a few extra dishes for him. We can just buy another fish for tomorrow."

Jessica quickly handed the prepared chicken to Felix. "York loves my cooking. Hurry up and chop this up."

Watching her parents, so busy and happy, Claudia quietly retreated to the kitchen doorway. In her memory, her parents had always treated York like a son-in-law, doting on him since he was a child. If they knew they had poured their hearts into raising an ungrateful bastard, they would be devastated.

When York came out of Eddy's room, he immediately spotted Claudia by the kitchen door. Through the semi-open kitchen, he could see her standing there quietly. Inside, her parents were chatting as they worked. York found himself mesmerized by the scene. This picture of domestic bliss... he used to be a part of it.

Seeing Claudia turn around with a platter, York stepped forward. "Is there anything I can help with?"

Claudia placed the platter on the dining table. She said to York, "You're a rich kid who's used to having everything handed to him. Don't create more trouble for my parents. Just sit down and wait for the food."
