My Husband's Affair My Anniversary Gift (Lily and David) novel Chapter 115

After finishing her work, Lily walked to the reception desk. Sofia, the receptionist, looked up from her seat, her face lighting up the moment she saw Lily.

“Miss Lily, your parcel is here,” Sofia said warmly, reaching under the desk and pulling out a neatly packed bag.

Lily’s eyes softened. “Thank you, Sofia.” She reached out and accepted the bag, giving her a genuine smile.

“You’re welcome. And Miss Lily…” Sofia hesitated, her voice lowering a little. “You’ve been working so hard lately. Don’t forget to take care of yourself.”

Lily chuckled softly, touched by the concern. “I’ll keep that in mind.”

She waved and turned to leave. The glass doors of the office slid open, and the cool evening air brushed her face.

Lily held the bag tightly in her hands as she sat back in the taxi. The city lights streamed past the window, blurring into a mix of gold and red. She checked her watch again 7:15.

Her heart beat a little faster. I should’ve left earlier… Noah must already be waiting.

The thought made her smile faintly. Noah wasn’t the type to get angry, but she knew her friend hated waiting alone. Especially on her own birthday.

The driver slowed as they reached the entrance of the club. A big neon board glowed at the top, the name of the club shining bright. Cars lined the front, one expensive model after another, and the doormen stood ready to greet. It was one of those high-profile places where business elites and young socialites liked to gather.

Lily paid the driver, adjusted her bag, and stepped out. She fixed her hair quickly with her fingers, making sure she looked presentable. She wasn’t here for anyone else—just Noah—but still, she didn’t want to walk in looking like she had rushed straight from the office.

Inside, music thumped softly, not too loud but enough to give the place energy. The lights were dim, with colorful spotlights moving across the ceiling. The hall was already crowded, people laughing, chatting, glasses clinking.

At the center of it all, Noah stood near a table decorated with balloons and flowers. A big cake sat waiting. She was in a beautiful red dress, her hair curled and shining under the lights. She looked stunning, like the star of the night she was supposed to be.

“Noah!” Lily called, waving her hand as she walked toward her.

Noah turned immediately, her face lighting up. “Lily! Finally! Do you know how many times I looked at the door, thinking you’d come in?”

Lily laughed softly, her guilt easing a little. “I’m sorry. Work dragged me longer than I thought.” She lifted the bag in her hand. “But I brought you something. You’ll love it, I promise.”
