“How dare you?” Olivia’s voice thundered back. Her eyes blazed as she pointed at Marina. “I should have known. I should have stopped this before it began. But I let you make your own choices, David. I trusted your judgment. And look where it’s brought us!”

She shook her head, her chest heaving. “Because of this woman, you’re losing your business. Do you hear me? Losing everything your father and I worked to build. And my poor Lily, my dear Lily. Because of the two of you, she has to suffer. She never deserved this.”

David’s hands balled into fists, but he kept his voice steady. “Mum… this is between us. Between me, Marina and Lily . You shouldn’t get involved. I told you before too...Marina has no fault.”

She stepped closer until her face was only inches from his. “I’ll never forget what you did to Lily. Never. And I will never accept this woman as my sister-in-law. Keep that in mind.”

Her gaze cut sharply to Marina, slicing like a knife. “This ends soon, Marina. One way or another.”

David’s body moved before Marina could even flinch. He planted himself firmly in front of her, shielding her with his broad frame. His eyes blazed. “Don’t you dare threaten her.”

Riyana’s nostrils flared. “Enough! Now you’re threatening your own sister for this woman? How much shame will you bring on us?”

Beside her, Olivia’s composure cracked, her voice trembling as tears welled up. “David, is this what you’ve become? Turning against your family for her? How much more pain will you cause me?”
