My ex husband wants me back (Daven and Althea) novel Chapter 652

Chapter 652

The Berlin sky was bright that afternoon, but Lydia’s mood was anything but light. She wandered through a city park without direction, letting her steps carry her wherever they pleased. The rustling trees, the soft breeze, the people passing by-it all faded into the background.

There was only one thing on her mind.

Cale.

And everything he was hiding.

“Would you like to sit for a moment, ma’am?” Andrew asked carefully, keeping a respectable distance.

“No,” Lydia replied shortly, not even turning to look at him. “Let’s keep going.”

Andrew nodded, clearly noticing the shift in her mood, but as always, he didn’t press further.

From the park, Lydia moved on to a shopping district.

And there-

she stopped holding back.

“That one,” she said, pointing at a handbag. “And that too.”

“Of course, ma’am.”

One store became two.

Two became three.

Lydia bought whatever caught her eye without hesitation, shoes, clothes, accessories-anything that appealed to her in the moment. Even things she didn’t need. If it caught her attention on display, she bought it.

Andrew followed in silence, though the growing number of purchases clearly surprised him.

“Ma’am… are all of these-”

“Just take them,” Lydia cut in without a second thought. “The card still works, doesn’t it?”

“Of course,” Andrew replied quickly.

A faint smile curved Lydia’s lip. “Good.”

She knew exactly whose card it was.

And somehow… that gave her a small sense of satisfaction.

“Consider this compensation,” she murmured under her breath, barely audible.

Andrew didn’t respond, too busy managing the ever-growing pile of shopping bags. He even called the driver over to help carry everything Lydia had bought.

After a few hours, Lydia finally stopped. Andrew’s hands were full, the bags piled up, and Lydla herself seemed a little calmer- though not entirely at ease.

“We’re going to the museum now,” she said.

“The Pergamon Museum?” Andrew confirmed.

Lydia nodded.

The drive from the shopping district to the museum took about an hour. Lydia used the time to rest, leaning back as she let the motion of the car soothe her slightly.

Before long, the museum came into view-grand, imposing, its architecture solid and commanding, with an atmosphere that felt… different.

As soon as they stepped inside, Lydia was greeted by a guide assigned specifically to her.

“Welcome, Mrs. Miller. I’ll be accompanying you today.”

Lydia gave a brief nod. “Go ahead.”

They moved through vast halls filled with ancient artifacts. The guide explained everything in careful detail-the history, the origins, the cultural significance of each piece they passed.

“This gate originates from Babylon, constructed around the-“The guide paused, glancing at Lydia, who didn’t seem fully engaged. “Ma’am? Would you like to take a short break? I’ve noticed your attention hasn’t quite been-”

“No. Please continue,” Lydia cut in softly. “I’m listening.”

But she wasn’t.

Not really.

Something about the atmosphere of the museum, different from the noise and distraction of the shopping district-made her thoughts drift. And inevitably, they circled back to Cale. To everything that had happened. To everything he hadn’t told her.

And just like that, the irritation she thought had settled began to rise again.

Eventually, she excused herself to the restroom.

“I’ll wait outside, ma’am,” the guide said.

Lydia nodded and followed the signs down a quiet corridor leading to the restroom area.

And that was when-she saw her.

The girl.

Standing by the sink, dressed in a simple uniform, her hair loosely tied back. Her hands moved as she cleaned, humming softly to herself, as if the world around her barely mattered.

Lydia slowed her steps, taking a closer look-just to be sure she wasn’t mistaken.

But no…

It was her.

The same girl from the airport. The same girl who had somehow become the center of her conflict with Cale.

There were too many secrets surrounding her. Maybe she truly didn’t know anything.

But it was just as possible…

that she knew exactly who Lydia was.

And for whatever reason, choose to hide it.

“Hi,” Lydia greeted, her tone carefully polite. “We meet again.”
