When the maid had announced Lionel’s arrival, Hannah had wondered what he could possibly want.
Hannah had considered many possibilities, thinking the most likely reason was that he wanted her to provide him with a false alibi.
But never, in all her imaginings, did she think he would come here to say this.
At that thought, Hannah couldn’t help but let out a long sigh, followed by a derisive laugh. “Lionel, I swear, your Rosenberg family is full of lunatics. Your Elders are insane, and so are you.”
“You open your mouth and lies just pour out. When did I ever say such a thing to your Elders? You bring that Elder here. I want to ask him to his face exactly when I supposedly said that!”
At that moment, the people watching the livestream were also stunned by the exchange between Hannah and Lionel.
【Wait, what’s going on? I’m so confused.】
【So, Hannah never said Lionel did it, but the Rosenberg Elders went and told Lionel that Hannah confessed and pointed the finger at him. So Lionel, feeling like he’s been framed, came here to confront Hannah?】
【I think that’s what’s happening?】
【But looking at Lionel now, it really seems like he had nothing to do with it.】
【I’m also getting the feeling Lionel is innocent this time. He might be an idiot, but the consequences of doing something like this would be huge!】
They were even discussing how pitiful the couple was, being played by the Elders like this, choosing to believe they were being framed and betrayed by each other rather than suspecting their own family was bluffing them.
As Lionel looked at Hannah’s cold, mocking expression, he slowly began to realize that something was wrong.
His brow furrowed slightly. After a moment of thought, he finally asked, “You mean to say, you never said any of that to the Elders?”
“Let me ask you, what exactly did your Elders tell you?” Hannah asked coolly.
Cherry chimed in with a smile, “Did your Elders tell you, ‘Hannah has already confessed everything was your doing, yet you still want her to lie for you? Stop this pointless resistance and just admit it,’ right?”
