Miracle Cutie (Amelia and Benjamin) novel Chapter 91

Chapter 91 Late-Night Cry for Daddy

But the moment Benjamin stepped out, Nina pointed at the door, wanting him back. “Daddy, play!”

Maybe playing with toys with Amelia every day had lost its novelty for her.

Now, she still loved to pull someone else into play.

Amelia carried her toward the bed. “No more playing. It’s time to sleep.

She placed Nina on the bed and turned off the lights.

If she didn’t turn off the lights to set the atmosphere, Nina would not settle down for sleep.

“Mommy, dark!”

“Yes, you’re going to sleep. If you don’t sleep, Mommy won’t buy you any toys.”

Finished

Amelia got into bed too, cuddling Nina, giving a little lecture. “Nina, next time you bring Daddy into the room, make sure to tell Mommy, okay?”

Nina flopped onto the pillow, half her body pressed down, her little chubby feet sticking up high.

She reached for her own pudgy feet and mumbled, “I want Daddy!”

She wanted Benjamin to come and play.

Seeing that Nina hadn’t taken in a word, Amelia sighed inwardly, “Forget about Daddy. Just sleep.”

She tucked Nina in with a small blanket and started humming a lullaby,

“Mommy, no sing!”

Nina hurriedly let go of her little feet to try and cover Amelia’s mouth.

But her pudgy hands didn’t reach in time. Her eyelids began to droop.

Before long, the little rebel who had been refusing sleep slumped onto the pillow, her chubby fists clenched next to her head.

She looked completely resigned and fell asleep with soft little/snores.

Amelia, seeing her asleep, leaned over to kiss her soft cheek and drifted off as well.

The two slept close together.

But Amelia had barely entered her dreams when the soft whining woke her up again.

Nina wasn’t feeling well today, and Amelia’s mind was still on that. She hadn’t been sleeping deeply.

At the first whimper, she woke silently and gently patted Nina.

In the past, when Nina’s sleep was restless, this small gesture would help her fall back asleep.

Chapter 91 Late-Night Cry for Daddy

But this time, Nina’s whining grew louder. She whimpered and flailed her pudgy legs, crying out.

Amelia cooed, “Nina, it’s okay. Mommy hugs you. My sweetheart.”

She switched on the lamp, keeping it dim, and carefully checked on Nina.

Sure enough, Nina wanted to scratch her own neck.

Her little body twisted and turned, and her back seemed uncomfortable, too.

Finished

Amelia had researched hives before. She knew the illness made people very uncomfortable until they were fully healed.

Even adults could break down from it.

Nina was too small to explain her discomfort with words. She just kept crying.

Amelia felt her heart ache. She tried to grab a warm, damp towel to wipe herself and apply more medicine.

But Nina clutched her neck, refusing to get off the bed. She was tired and uncomfortable, impossible to soothe.

“Daddy, Daddy…”

Maybe she had wanted to play with Daddy before bed and hadn’t gotten the chance. Or maybe she just naturally relied on him. Either way, the crying little girl began calling for her dad.

She kept calling for both “Mommy” and “Daddy”, her small body flushed from crying.

Amelia’s heart ached. She held Nina up and fumbled to grab the phone from the bedside.

She called Benjamin.

At this late hour, she wasn’t even sure if he was asleep.

She had heard from Daniel that Benjamin’s sleep quality was exceptional.

Years ago, when Daniel had insisted on going out to play, Benjamin had been reluctant, but eventually accompanied him with a dark expression.

They went to a remote travel spot. Benjamin continued his online work while Daniel played on his own.

Unfortunately, a quake struck the next day.

It happened at night. Daniel, sleeping next to Benjamin, was terrified.

Seeing everyone flee, Daniel ran to Benjamin’s room, pounding on the door in panic.
