Chapter 78 Crying All the Way to Daddy
Amelia always told Nina that everything on set was pretend, just acting.
No matter what she saw, Nina must never run over.
Plus, Sadie had been holding her tight the whole time, so Nina didn’t bolt right away.
Now that Amelia wasn’t working anymore, Nina could finally hug her.
She cried her little heart out. She felt like she failed to protect her mom!
The taxi driver chimed in, “Uh, ladies, where are we headed?”
Finished
The driver was a middle-aged guy. He didn’t want to interrupt the sobbing kid, but the car couldn’t just sit there forever.
Before Amelia could answer, Sadie beat her to it. “Graham Group!”
She had recorded everything that happened on set, including Levi’s ugly face.
She was taking the crying Nina and the still-red-cheeked Amelia straight to tattle!
Now that they had a destination, the driver took off. “Got it, buckle up, we’re rolling!”
Amelia, busy comforting a wailing Nina with one arm, looked at Sadie and said, “Sadie, why are we going there?”
She didn’t want Benjamin to see her face like this.
She frowned, ready to change the route, but Nina wouldn’t let her.
The little one sat on Amelia’s lap, tears streaming, chubby face tilted/up. “Daddy! Nina want Daddy! Want Daddy!”
Nina was already a mess; Amelia didn’t dare refuse again. She was scared that one more “no” would make . her cry until she passed out.
Amelia cooed, “Nina, look at Mommy. Mommy doesn’t hurt at all.
“That was just work.
“You’re still small and different from Mommy. If someone hits you in the future, you have to tell me, alright?”
Even in this situation, Amelia didn’t forget to teach Nina about safety.
She was serious, but Nina wasn’t in the mood to learn.
Nina’s heart was breaking for Amelia!
She wrapped her arms around Amelia’s neck, pressing her wet little face against her chest.

“Nina, drink some water.” Amelia carefully offered water so she wouldn’t get dehydrated.
The driver was a kind middle-aged man.
Even with Nina crying the whole ride, he wasn’t annoyed at all; he actually felt for Amelia.
He sighed, “Raising a kid’s tough, huh? I’ve got three at home! I suffered plenty when they were little.”
Since he was a parent too, he was extra understanding.
“It really is,” Amelia replied softly.
Nina had inherited way too many of her real dad’s bad habits.
Raising her was exhausting.
The first year, Amelia barely slept a full night.
Before moving to the Graham Residence, she never woke up naturally.
Nina had her own internal alarm clock and was up at dawn. When she was awake, Amelia had to wake up.
Amelia struggled, but she never regretted having Nina.
Nina was beautiful and adorable; one big smile wiped away every hardship.
“Mommy, more water.”
Nina always wanted water when she cried, two sobs, one sip, two sobs, another sip.
Amelia was so used to keeping Nina hydrated that Nina now hugged her own bottle or water cup whenever she cried.
Amelia said, “We’ll drink in a bit.”
Nina’s little bottle was empty.
Amelia wiped the tears off her cheeks and coaxed, “We’ll drink when we get to Daddy’s, okay?”
Seeing the kid desperate for water, the driver sped up a little and got them there a few minutes early.
Amelia pulled on a mask and a baseball cap before getting out.
She was so pretty that even with just her eyes showing, anyone could tell she was stunning.
In the lobby, Nina’s chubby little face worked like a VIP pass; no one asked for an appointment.
Amelia carried Nina straight into Benjamin’s private elevator.
