Chapter 77 Crossed the Line
Amelia was still memorizing lines and marking positions.

Nina sat obediently waiting for her mom, occasionally patting Sadie to comfort her when she got too excited.
The company assistant who had come to look after Amelia frowned the moment he spotted Nina.
He stepped aside and immediately reported to Leo, “Amelia brought her kid to the set. That child is a walking time bomb.
“The company wants to market her as a fresh-faced young talent. If people find out she has a daughter, the whole persona collapses.”
He was genuinely worried about Nina’s existence.
Leo, however, stayed perfectly calm. “What do you know? If the kid gets exposed, it’s Amelia’s house that burns, not ours.
“We’re only taking short-term gigs. Money in hand, mission accomplished.”
Neither Leo nor the company cared about Amelia’s long-term career.
The company assistant said, “Fine, you’ve got a point. But will Amelia cooperate? She’s admitted she’s single, but she’s never once mentioned the kid.”
Amelia had been struggling in the industry for years.
She never tried to be an idol who danced and sang.
She was here to work, plain and simple.
Someone offered a song; she sang. Someone needed an actress; she acted. A drama had an opening; she
took it.
Whatever paid, she did.
She had few fans and plenty of haters, so she never made money off a fandom.
Now, whether she had a child or not didn’t matter.
But if the company wanted to craft a cute, single new-gen actress image to make a quick buck from it, the kid was a landmine.
Leo huffed, “Stop with the questions. I told you to watch her, not play twenty thousand whys. Quit yapping and get back there,”
“Got it.”
The assistant only reported Amelia’s private life; he never mentioned a word about the script change or the slap.

Chapter 77 Crossed the Line
Soon, Amelia finished memorizing the new lines and filming resumed.

Nina was cupping her chubby cheeks, staring at her mom, when a loud slap suddenly landed on Amelia’s face.
Nina froze.
The moment the slap ended, Levi lifted the megaphone and called cut, “No, no, Natalie, your emotion’s off. Again.”
He frowned and called for a reset.
Natalie Parkey, the supporting actress who delivered the slap, bent over apologizing nonstop.
“I’m so sorry, I didn’t mean to hit that hard.”
Amelia smiled lightly, “It’s fine. Nothing ever goes in one take.”
Natalie apologized again, took a breath, and they went again.
This time, she thought she nailed it.
Levi stopped them anyway and said, “Natalie, that slap was way too soft! Are you holding back? Don’t worry. Amelia’s not petty. Hit her properly! Once more.”
Natalie couldn’t believe it; her hand was already numb.
She didn’t want to do this anymore and said, “Levi, her face is red. I think the last two takes were usable-”
Levi barked, “Usable? Who’s the director here, you or me?! If you’re so full of opinions, why don’t you come direct?”
Natalie was also a small-timer with no real clout.
After that public dressing-down, she didn’t dare speak again.
But she could feel something was off with Levi.
He sounded righteous, yet it felt like he was deliberately targeting Amelia.
If even Natalie noticed, Amelia definitely did.
This wasn’t her first time being bullied on a set.
In the past, she swallowed her anger for the sake of earning money. But with Nina watching today, she refused to endure it.
She didn’t want her daughter to learn this kind of silent suffering.
Her cheek flushed, and she stared straight at Levi.
She said coldly, “Levi, I’m not shooting this revised scene. We’ll wait for Darius to come back and decide.”
With that, she asked for leave on the spot.
