Darius thought about the appearance of that chubby little baby. She was quite cute and pretty. Amelia herself was beautiful too.

But a top-tier wealthy family like the Grahams… would they allow Daniel to bring a mother and daughter into the family? It was clearly impossible!

Facing Darius’ confusion, Daniel raised an eyebrow and told him the truth, “You’ve got the wrong person.”

Darius asked, “What?”

A slight smile touched Daniel’s lips. “My brother is the father. The biological father. With my brother around, I can’t be the stepdad just yet.”

Daniel’s eldest brother was deceased. When he said “my brother,” everyone knew he was referring to Benjamin.

Darius’ brain short-circuited on the spot!

It took him a good while to slowly reboot and process the relationship.

“Amelia is your brother’s wife?! And her child is your brother’s?!”

Darius’ eyes widened in disbelief. “You must be joking! How could your brother possibly have a wife and child!”

“He really isn’t asexual,” Daniel remarked. “That’s something I only recently found out too.

“Alright, I won’t chat with you anymore. I came to tell you that your series needs a new female lead.

“To compensate for your loss, I will invest in your production.”

Daniel patted the director on the shoulder, delivered this notice, and then turned to leave.

Darius asked, “What do you mean? You want me to replace Zoe?”

Daniel waved his hand without looking back. “No. After today, you’ll want to replace her yourself.”

The last chance he gave Zoe… she had already used it up!

From now on, she couldn’t blame him for taking action!

Daniel headed back towards Amelia’s room. Before he reached the door, Zoe’s manager, who had learned of his arrival, intercepted him.

“Mr. Graham, Zoe is still unconscious. While she was out, she kept calling your name.

“Could you… go see her?”

Daniel said, “No rush.

“I’ve prepared a gift for her. You’ll see it today.”

After Daniel mentioned the gift, the manager’s face visibly lit up with delight!

“Mr. Graham, you’re still so good to Zoe. She really suffered this time…”

The manager wanted to prattle on, but Daniel couldn’t be bothered to listen further. His gaze cold, he motioned for his attendant, Oscar, to promptly “escort” the manager away.

The manager, being “escorted” away, wasn’t angry. She returned to the room cheerfully and reported the good news to Zoe, who wasn’t actually unconscious at all. “Zoe, your ‘bitter flesh strategy’ really worked! Daniel has softened towards you after all!

“He said he prepared a gift for you!”

Hearing the good news, Zoe didn’t look very happy. On the contrary, she snorted coldly, her tone laced with displeasure.

“He’s so pretentious, forcing me to give him a way out!

“My head, my back, my legs… they hurt like hell from that fall!”

Zoe’s fall down the stairs had been quite real. She was in immense pain all over! But to bring down Amelia and to make Daniel pamper her like before, she had to be ruthless with herself!

Zoe and her manager were still waiting for Daniel’s “gift.”

Not far away, in Amelia’s room, Daniel was cutting fruit for her.

“Amelia, your injuries allow you to recuperate at home. But if you recover here, your fans will probably feel even more sorry for you when they find out.”

Daniel knew a thing or two about the routines of the entertainment industry. Many celebrities, once injured, would use the opportunity to rally fan sympathy.

Hearing Daniel’s suggestion, Amelia smiled wryly, “Daniel, I don’t have that many fans. What I have the most of are anti-fans.”

Amelia was beautiful, and many people had taken a liking to her when she first entered the industry. But she was unwilling to trade sexual favors for opportunities. Because of this, she had been drugged once. Stumbling away while fleeing, she had encountered Benjamin.
