When he finished, he paused and turned his head slightly toward her. “You can close your eyes and lie down on the sofa while you listen.”
Amelia smiled, “Okay!”
She happened to be feeling a little tired from sitting upright.
So she lay down on the sofa, pulling Nina’s little blanket over herself.
With the music filling the room, Amelia-who originally wasn’t sleepy at all-felt her eyelids grow heavier and heavier.
Eventually, she relaxed completely and drifted into sleep.
Benjamin didn’t stop playing until he was sure she was fully asleep.
He walked over to her side and lowered his eyes, quietly watching her sleep.
Amelia always had expressions when she slept.
Her expressions weren’t as dramatic as Nina’s, but her occasional murmurs or little frowns were just as adorable.
In the piano room, one person slept while the other watched her sleep.
Out in the hallway, the old butler Griffin Dunne paused at the doorway for a moment before walking away.
With his hands clasped behind his back, he muttered softly to himself as he left, “So many years have passed… I never thought I’d hear this piece again.”
Griffin had worked at the Graham Residence the longest so he knew this was the piece Benjamin’s mother once played while courting William.
Back then, William didn’t have the weariness he carried how.
He had been incredibly popular.
Many young ladies only needed to look at his face once o fall hopelessly in love with him.
As Griffin reminisced about those days-about the prou, warmhearted Benjamin’s mother-he smiled, as if he’d stepped right back into the past.
With Nina gone from the house, everything suddenly felt quieter.
Meanwhile, although the Morris Villa had already been lively, adding Nina made the whole place even more
chaotic.
Vincent adored Nina.
He only had sons-no daughters.
He had always wished for a little granddaughter, and once he had Nina in his arms, he practically refused to

Vincent placed Nina on his knee, feeding her snacks while he talked to her. “Nina, why are you so adorable? Will you be my granddaughter?”
Nina’s mouth was too busy chewing to speak.
Each time she swallowed, she opened her mouth wide again, waiting for Vincent to give her the next bite.
Vincent fed her nonstop.
Watching from the side, William quickly stepped in. “That’s enough, Vincent. Don’t give her any more. If she eats too many snacks, she won’t eat dinner.
“Let her go play. Don’t keep holding her.”
“No!” Vincent refused instantly. “I haven’t held her long enough. You live with Nina, you can hold her anytime you want. It’s hard enough for me to even get one chance.
“I’m serious, William-give me your granddaughter.
“Our family isn’t lacking anything either.”
William looked at him coolly. His tone was frosty. “Don make me fight you at my age.”
Vincent huffed, “You violent man. No wonder Benjamin inherited it. Benjamin really beat my Lucas hard, you know.”
The two continued talking while Nina ate snack after snack on Vincent’s lap.
Lucien stood by patiently waiting for her.
William kept blocking Vincent from feeding her more.
Seeing William on the verge of losing his temper, Vincent finally stopped reluctantly.
“Nina, am I good to you?” he asked.
Nina answered immediately, “Good!”
After all that food Vincent had given her, Nina liked him very much now.
Vincent and Nina got along perfectly.
Once Nina finished eating, Lucien took her hand and le her away.
Lucien walked ahead holding Nina, and Frank followed them from behind.
Watching the three children walk off, Vincent’s eyes were still glued to Nina’s plump little back.
William could tell just how much he truly liked her.
“Stop staring. She’s not yours.” William’s tone held a clear note of pride. “She belongs to my family.”
Vincent snapped, “Oh, shut up.”
