But older kids usually thought Nina was too young and didn’t enjoy playing with her.

Lucien was older than she was and still patient enough to entertain her, so it made perfect sense why Ninal loved sticking to him.

Amelia looked at them and finally relented. “All right, then, take her. If she misbehaves outside, you can pat her hand or her bottom.”

Before Amelia even finished the sentence, Nina was already shaking her head hard.

“No hit! No hit Nina!”

Having been smacked on the hand by Amelia several times, Nina was truly afraid of being hit.

She patted her own little chest and said earnestly, “Nina small. No hit!”

Her terrified little expression didn’t just make William laugh uncontrollably-it also made Amelia want to laugh.

Not far away, Benjamin’s gaze also lingered on Nina.

“Okay, no hitting Nina.” William held back his laughter and added, “Nina really is still little.”

While the whole family gathered around to tease Nina, Frank tugged on William’s sleeve.

He asked, “Grandpa William, can I come too? I want to play with Lucien too.”

Frank knew of Lucien.

He was older than Lucien.

Hearing his request, William agreed without thinking too much, “Sure, you two can go together.”

William took both children and left the house.

Once Nina stepped outside, Amelia immediately started worrying again.

She wondered if William could watch two children at once.

Benjamin seemed to read her concern. He walked over and handed her a glass of water.

He said, “Don’t worry. Nina will always have someone to look after her.”

Wherever William went, he never lacked people around him.

After Amelia took a few sips, Benjamin naturally took the glass back, then gently guided her toward the hallway by her shoulder.

“Go rest,” he said calmly. “The doctor wants you to get more sleep.”

Amelia murmured, “I can’t fall asleep.”

She slept really well last night. Being told to sleep again how felt impossible.

Benjamin lowered his eyes and offered a suggestion. “You can listen to some soft music. It helps you relax.

“That works too,” Amelia said.

To her, “soft music” meant getting her phone and searching for relaxing tracks on a music or video app.

She never imagined Benjamin meant he would play the piano for her.

The piano room in the Graham Residence was large. Beside the piano was a comfortable sofa, though a few of Nina’s toy cars and her little blanket were scattered across it.

Those were left there from the time Nina played in this room.

Nina could never sit still; she had to explore every single room in the house.

Amelia sat stiffly on the sofa, holding Nina’s little blanket. She stared at Benjamin, who was already seated at the piano, completely unsure how things had escalated to this point.

Having Benjamin play for her… she was shocked.

“Um… Benjamin, if you’re busy, you don’t have to mind me,” Amelia said, gathering her courage. “Nina and I have already taken up so much of your time these past days.”

First, Nina fell sick, then she got injured-Benjamin had been taking care of them nonstop. It was clear his own schedule wasn’t free at all.

Hearing her words, Benjamin looked over, his gaze cool and clear.

He said, “I learned piano from my mother. After she passed away, I rarely played. I’m not very good. If you don’t want to listen, I—”
