Miracle Cutie (Amelia and Benjamin) novel Chapter 123

Chapter 123 Nina’s Instincts

The thought of Nina crying so hard today still sent a shiver down William’s spine.

By the end, she had even gagged.

He had been genuinely terrified.

Vincent listened to his description and felt something was off, too.

“Was this the first time Nina saw Ryan?” he asked.

William nodded and replied, “Yes. It was their first meeting. Ryan had never met her before, so he couldn’t have offended her in any way.

“I just can’t understand why her reaction to Ryan was so extreme.”

Even now, William was completely puzzled.

Vincent didn’t respond immediately.

He was silent for a long moment before finally asking William, “William, do you believe in a child’s intuition?

“Sometimes a child’s instincts are incredibly sharp.

“They can sense a person’s energy, whether they like them or not, even better than we can.

“Ryan may never have met Nina before, and he didn’t do anything to her.

“But Nina’s strong rejection of him doesn’t come without reason.

“You should seriously look into him.”

After Vincent said this, William fell silent.

They talked in a heavy, tense atmosphere, while not far away, Nina was far less serious.

She was riding Lucien’s push scooter.

Her little body was too short to reach the handlebars, yet she still insisted on stepping onto the scooter.

Lucien was a responsible older brother. One hand held the scooter, the other supported Nina.

As Lucien struggled a bit, Frank began speaking to him a foreign language.

Lucien raised an eyebrow. “I don’t understand.”

He hated this kind of thing.

Having spent some time living abroad, he disliked foreign life and, by extension, hearing foreign languages.

Other than the foreign language lesson at school, he avoided speaking it whenever he could.

Frank’s actions were practically testing his patience.

After Lucien’s blunt refusal, Frank’s little face darkened.

But he quickly spoke again in the local language, “Lucic. My name is Frank. We’re about the same age. We can play together.

“I know how to do a lot of things. I even won an award for the model I built.

“I can ride bikes, play with kids’ racing cars…”

Frank rattled off all the things he could do, but Lucien had no patience to listen to all of it.

“So what?” Lucien spat out, pushing the scooter forward while holding onto Nina.

Nina’s little plump feet landed firmly on the scooter.

She couldn’t move it by herself yet, so when it started rolling, her eyes opened wide in surprise.

“Moving!” she exclaimed. “I move!”

Lucien pushed with effort, coaxing her as he went, “Yes, you made the scooter move. You’re amazing.”

“Wow!” Nina’s eyes sparkled. “I amazing!”

Lucien nodded. “That’s right, you’re really amazing!”

He looked every bit the responsible older brother, patiently playing with Nina on the scooter for a while.

But Nina’s attention was easily distracted. While still on the scooter, her eyes caught sight of a nearby pool.

In an instant, she abandoned the scooter and ran toward the water with her tiny legs.

Lucien called out, “Don’t touch that water-it’s dirty!”

The pool had small circulating fountains. The water quality wasn’t suitable for a child as young as Nina, but she insisted on playing.

Sometimes she squatted to touch the water with her tiny hands, other times she tried to step into it with her little feet.

Lucien kept trying to pull her away.

Seeing Lucien struggling a bit to control Nina, Frank spoke up again, “She’s too little. She shouldn’t play with us.

“She loves running around. You can leave her with the nanny, and we can go play more interesting games.”

Frank was blatantly trying to steal attention.

Luckily, Nina was too young to understand, so she didn argue with him.
