Angela’s expression froze, but moments later she acted as though nothing had happened, wearing a gentle smile.
"Selina, you’re right. Then Grandma and I will step down first."
Selina nodded. "Mm, let’s begin."
Very quickly, Turner Group unveiled the new collection’s designs, which received unanimous praise.
Angela stared at Selina’s back, grinding her teeth. Fine, let her be arrogant for a little longer—soon enough, she would be ruined!
...
An Hour Later
The product presentation ended, and at last came the much-anticipated unveiling of the Fortune Jade.
Joe’s eyes were full of guilt and relief as he walked over to Selina.
"Selina, everyone’s waiting. Angela said the Fortune Jade is with you. Shouldn’t you..."
"Angela said it’s with me, and you just believe her?" Selina sneered.
Joe was visibly taken aback, embarrassed at being contradicted. As a son, he had never dared oppose Grandma Morris, and naturally assumed his wife and daughter should also obey.
But Selina’s repeated defiance made him lose face. His cheeks reddened.
"Angela is your sister—would she lie to me? What benefit would she get? Hurry up, stop being willful!"
Angela stepped forward with a tone of helplessness.
"Dad, you’re being too harsh on Sis. Selina, everyone’s waiting for us. Please don’t be stubborn, okay? If something goes wrong and Young Master Turner gets upset, what if he cancels the cooperation?"
"You might not care about yourself, but you should think about the Morris Family."
Selina curved her lips into a faint smile.
"Right now? You’re sure you want the Fortune Jade unveiled?"
Angela took it as a sign Selina was frightened.
"Of course! Selina, are you stalling for time? Why won’t you show it—unless the Fortune Jade..."
"If everyone’s so eager to see it, then let them see."
Selina produced a box and suddenly smiled.
"But this is what you’ve all been asking for. If anything unpleasant happens afterward, don’t blame anyone else."
She wondered whether the Morris Family was ready for the storm that was about to break over their heads.
Grandma Morris didn’t think twice.
"If I told you to bring it out, then bring it out!"
Selina nodded, her gaze on Grandma Morris as cold as if she were already looking at a corpse.
Moments later, everyone held their breath as Selina lifted a plain wooden box and slowly opened the lid.
Angela’s smile spread wider and wider—until...
Inside was revealed a gleaming jade-green Fortune Jade.
It was made from flawless glassy jadeite, yet unlike most jade, it carried a trace of warmth rather than icy coldness. On its surface were carved the Turner Group family crest and vine-like motifs—ancient and dignified.
Carving on jadeite of this quality was notoriously difficult; its hardness meant even the slightest error could shatter the stone. Yet this Fortune Jade’s craftsmanship was seamless, almost otherworldly.
The crowd gasped, awestruck.
"As expected of the Turner family... Today the world knows them as a family of artists and designers, but in fact, their mastery of jade carving is just as extraordinary."
"Everyone knows Kevin, the world-famous designer, but before him, the Turners were celebrated worldwide for their jade carvings."
Compliment after compliment poured in, but instead of joy, the faces of the Morris Family grew darker and darker.
