Damian POV

I led my team forward I had to be a good leader and trust the rest of the team, I can’t stay back to keep my mate safe, I need to trust them and they need to be able to trust me. Plus this is just a friendly game, in real war, my mate wouldn’t be anywhere near the battle ground. And then while I was gone, which reminds in real war, don’t leave her behind with others, she got kidnapped, but there were supervisors all over the place, she was never in real danger, if they try to hurt her the supervisor would step right in. I was offered either a supervisor role or a player, I went with a player, and left the supervisor roles for the rest of the teachers.

Levent happened to be the spokesmen this year, I swear everyone is trying to make it up for him for losing his mate and trying to make him feel better, I didn’t mind that, he deserves the special treatment for a couple days at least, until he gets back on his feet.

The game started and we had a full plan that we agreed on days before, some of the mates who agreed to play along, they need to be kept safe at all cost, some people thinks allowing the mates in is a bad thing, but it’s actually adding to the fun of the game, we have some delicate people around to keep safe which makes it all the harder.

There’s also the option of kidnapping, I heard from Levent that in the pass years, one time a team was almost winning, ready to put the flag up when the mates were kidnapped and they gave up to rescue them, it’s a gamble to have them around, but that’s life.

They decided to kidnap my mate while we have the divergent plan, I was too busy, I was far away and I didn’t know what the hell was going

The rest of my team managed to save her, they hunted her down and attacked the kidnappers, and then she ran away from them both, the little Flower asked a supervisor which side she’s supposed to go to, but they aren’t allowed to show any preference or tell her which side is her team. They had to stay neutral and just make sure that she’s safe while playing and not get in the middle of the game, her luck brought her over to where the actual fight was going, we weren’t winning but we weren’t losing either.

Both teams were strong and equal in knowledge, and so winning was hard, but then I saw her, she slipped between the wolves, my heart grew when I saw her, she moved from being so scared of wolves into slipping between their paws using her small size and new found speed, she managed to hang the flag up and we won, all cause of my little flower

And now it’s time to celebrate, everyone raised their glass for her, including the red team, it’s a game, and we all should stay friends no matter who won and who lost.

“Cheers to my mate! The sneakiest luna ever!” I say, raising another glass to my flower, we drank the beer and danced to the music, the afterward party is even better than the game, everyone is around, people from outside the academy are here, parents, and families.

“I still can’t believe we lost because of her,” one of the red team

“Don’t underestimate the mate’s brother,” another person answered

him.

“They might be small,” Oscar says.

“But they are damn mighty,” Oliver says laughing out loud, I don’t

think they’re drunk, not from the alcohol, they are drunk on the joy of winning.

“Hey, Flower,” Levent says walking toward Lotus, although everyone was happy and dancing, he looked sad and broken, he didn’t belong here between us.

“Hey,” she says turning to him.

“Good job,” he says in his proud voice, I knew that one, Levent is a born father, he used to treat me like his own growing up, and when I made Alpha he was more proud than our real father.

“Thank you,” she say turning red.

“Your mother, Victoria would be so damn proud of you,” he says with the same sad smile, I could see the tears starting to shine in his eyes.

“Thank you, I’m sorry you lost her so soon,” she says forgiving him for her mother’s death, she didn’t need to say it, but I knew she blamed him, and now she sees how sad he is without her.

“It’s the goddess will, I’ll survive,” he assures her and walk away, he shook hands with the rest of the winners, gave the losers some encouraging words.

“You know this happens twice a year right?” Flower yells into my ear, the music was so loud, it felt like we’re going to end up deaf by the time the party ends.
