“Flower, stop it, I swear,” I promised my mate while crossing both fingers behind my back, I was lying to her, but she doesn’t need to know that.

“I don’t believe you,” she says not trusting me.

“Flower, all I wanna do is hug you, maybe a couple kisses,” I say with a fake shrug.

“We both know it’s how it always starts and never ends,” she says running away from me yet again, I’ve been chasing her for the last hour around our home.

“Baby, why not? I’m your mate,” I say coming after her, but she yelled and started yelling again.

“I’m fucking sore Damian!” she yells at me.

“Shift to your wolf form, it’ll heal right away,” I assure her, maybe we can even do it in the wolf form, that would be nice.

“I don’t want to, I want a night off,” she says and run again, I was off chasing her again, she was laughing, smiling, and over all happy, I never cross the lines with my mate, but this is just a game for the two of us, everything is consensual.

“I’m calling my father then!” she says, meaning calling my older brother, her step–father.

“I’ll call him for you then,” I say, getting my phone out and dialling my brother’s number, good thing she didn’t want to talk to Anna, my older

sister.

“Hello,” Levent says through the phone.

“What’s up brother?” I say watching her face turning bloody red.

“We got a problem here, you got some time?” he asks me, and the game ended then, my brother needs me.

“What’s wrong?” I ask him in a serious voice.

“Can you come over? It can’t be told over the phone,” Levent says.

“You got it, on my way,” I say, looking at Flower, who nods and agrees to come along with me. We both get in the car and drive over the border to their side.

We met them at the alpha’s house, that’s where the patrol told us we’d found them, I noticed there were many more patrol than the usual number, it was like the whole pack was on alert.

“Ronan Vile is declaring war unless we give him back what’s his,” Levent says and I gave him a confused look, who the hell? And what the hell?

“Who? What?” I ask confused.

“He’s Mia’s ex alpha, and we think it’s Mia,” Levent says.

“What are you going to do?” I ask them.

“Fight back,” Levent answers me with a shrug, Mariano and Nutmeg came by and joined us as well, listening to the chat.

“Have you tried asking them what they want? Maybe end it without a real war,” Flower suggests.

“I said the same thing,” Nutmeg agreed with her.

“Even if we try, they won’t agree to come here and talk,” Mariano says.

“How about I give him a call then? I’m not part of this war, I’ll try to buy him off,” I suggest. I don’t want any pack to start a fight, especially the one that I once called home.

“I don’t think that’s a bad idea, but you’ll have to run it by my father still,” Mariano says, he’s almost the one in charge but it’s protocol to ask your elder for their opinion in cases like this one.

“I’ll go ahead and ask him, maybe this war will end before it starts,” I say, heading to talk with him, he too thought it’s not a bad idea and gave the go ahead.
