Summer said, "After Cassidy posted that public apology, her followers plummeted. She went from having more than 800,000 followers to only having barely over 100,000 followers.
"I bet that a portion of those remaining followers are just fake bots she had spent money on. After that, more and more people came out of the woodwork to expose her.
"They all claimed she had been faking her persona and wasn't some wealthy socialite from abroad. They even said she was someone who relied on her plastic face to sleep her way up.
"People even exposed her for using her status to bully people. I don't know if Mr. Jacobson had paid to get the topic trending on social media, but the topic stayed on the trending search bar for three days."
Summer took a sip of her tea and said slowly, "Her account was banned when I checked this morning. There's no way she'll be able to continue her work as an influencer after all this."
"She brought this upon herself," Tessa said expressionlessly.
Summer nodded in agreement. "You're right. She deserves it. She probably didn't think she'd hit a brick wall after bullying so many people with her status."
As they chatted, Tessa's phone rang. It was a call from Naomi.
She answered the call. "Naomi, what's wrong?"
Naomi sounded quite distraught as she asked, "Tess, are you busy?"
"I'm not."
"Something happened. Can you come over to keep me company for a little while?"
Tessa immediately asked with concern, "What happened? Where are you? I'll come right now."
Naomi gave her an address, and Tessa quickly responded, "I'll head over there right now."
After ending the call, Tessa turned to Marissa and Summer, explaining, "Something's happened with a close friend of mine, so I need to go over and check on her. Sorry for leaving so suddenly, but let's get together again soon."
"Alright. Goodbye," Marissa said.
Summer waved her hand. "Goodbye. See you next time."
Once Tessa left, Summer turned to Marissa. "Have you really moved on from Stephen?"
Marissa sighed as hurt flashed across her eyes. "It's not that easy for me to move on. After all, I've loved him for seven years."
